  1. Sounds like a Howie pick on the surface, but if the eagles think that his arm length would rule him out from playing tackle then drafting a guard top 10 would be a waste. If not, then he’d be a pretty reasonable pick other than the fact that he would be scheduled to switch positions two years into his career which seems nonideal. Still, howie usually goes with guys who have unteachable physical attributes (kelce, mailata, lane (99th percentile 40 and 96% vert), jurgens, arguably Dickerson who is a massive human being) above all else

I guess that he would be excellent competition with jurgens for a guard spot this year and his versatility would make him an elite option off the bench at guard or tackle should someone go down. Dickerson and Lane definitely make me hold my breath every Sunday

  2. The Eagles lack of depth on the offensive line is a definite problem to address. They can’t bank on a second year in a row where the starting online is intact throughout the year with limited time missed due to injuries. Having a versatile high end pick who can step into the guard and tackle positions on both sides is a tremendous value.

  3. Don’t see him as a tackle and he’s not a Quentin Nelson type guard prospect. Would be disappointed if he’s the pick at 10. he would play over Jurgens which means your second round pick isn’t playing for two years.

  4. Howie can find a starting level OL in the 2nd or later. Feels bad to take a lineman in the top 10 and have him play 0 snaps until Lane or Kelce retire.

  5. Stoutland can work his magic with later round guys, doesn’t need top10 talent to do so.

Use both first rounders on D. Or trade back.

  6. I get how he’s graded and our love for OL but if you’re going top 10 they should have a physical profile like Lane did coming out, 6’6/320 with tight end speed. This guy is a try hard technician and he will probably be good but it’s a tough sell at 10. Maybe with a trade down.

  7. It’s hard to be excited about an OL pick.

But our OL depth, behind Kelce’s replacement, is thin. We don’t have Seomalu, Dillard, or Vaiti anymore. Lane is nearing the end (when he wants to retire). There just is not enough depth.

And our awesome QB is about to sign a huge contract. I want him surrounded by a great line, not a hope and see. So as uninteresting as line picks can be, I would be ok at him at 10.

Few were excited about an OL pick in 2013. But he was a great pick.

    Win the line.

  8. Personally I think that a sweet spot for an offensive linemen would be with pick 30 or 62. I wouldn’t love or hate an offensive lineman at 10 but it really depends who is on the board. There could be a lot of guys available at 30 and 62; possibly Darnell Wright, Anton Harrison, Dawand Jones, O’Cyrus Torrence, etc. Even later in the draft if we got some more mid round picks there’s a lot of solid options. I.e: Antonio Mafi, Chandler Zavala, McClendon Curtis, and several others.

My only gripe with an offensive linemen at 10 is that they are not going to start, or get snaps, unless someone gets hurt. Our depth is a concern but our offensive line right now stands at:
    Maliata, Dickerson, Kelce, Jurgens, Johnson

Drafting an offensive linemen should be a top priority considering Lane is retiring in a year or two, Dickerson often misses snaps during games due to minor leg or elbow injuries, and Jurgens is going to slide back to center after Kelce is gone (or if he just straight up stinks at guard)

  9. He’s gonna be. Good player but my god I’ll be so disappointed if we take him

    Boring ass pick

  10. I get that he’s the best o line prospect in this class but he literally has t rex arms

  11. I was so disappointed when they drafted lane Johnson. I’m in idiot. This makes sense.

  12. Feel like I’m in the minority of fans who would absolutely love Skoronski at 10. I understand that with his short arms he is almost guaranteed to be sliding inside to guard and guard isn’t valuable enough to justify a valuable pick; but he’s so darn good and technical and I’m confident he can provide top level play early. I feel like ppl might be overthinking the length and positional value aspect of picking him to the point where they’re overlooking just how good he is.

  13. Joseph and Suh were signed off the street, and were immediate contributors. I don’t think that would happen with any pair of offensive linemen if injuries hit the offense.

Continuity is much more critical for the OL. Don’t know if skoronski would be my pick at 10, but if Paris Johnson slips…
