Joel is averaging 36.8/11.8/4.3 on 69.5 TS% against the Celtics this season, yet the Sixers are 1-3 against them. The R2 series will come down to if the role players can do anything at all

  1. It’s not 2019 anymore, Embiid himself has crushed Boston twice this season (52 and 44 points), with two more pretty good games (28 and 26, both efficient).

We are 1-3 because literally everyone else (except Harden) has been dogbooty vs Boston this season. Maxey’s averaging 10 ppg on 40% TS vs them, Niang is at 2.8 ppg on 31 TS%, Tobi 11.5 ppg on 50% TS etc…. Maxey and Niang in particular have been huge liabilities against them, because they’re getting roasted on the other end (White’s having career games vs us every matchup)

They’re selling out to double Joel, but even that hasn’t stopped Joel. Our role players have still been useless. Combine this with Boston having refs dickride them since last season (last playoffs was horrendous in terms of how much Celtics got favored by refs), it’ll be a tough hill to climb unless we can see Maxey / Tobi / Jalen etc be a lot lot better

  2. After tonight what is PJ? Honestly it’s a damn shame and I’m not sure who is more to blame. Everyone for not stepping up or Doc for not making adjustments. It’s obvious Niang shouldn’t play against the Celtics and when Tobi is having a night like last night switch him out for McDaniels or house jr (how times have changed). For Maxey, melton is much better defensively and we need that against a team like Boston but melton didn’t have a great game either. Some nice defensive stops but no points.

Doc and Tobias have been and continue to be our biggest what ifs

  3. I really worry about Maxey in the playoffs. I can’t remember him hitting any big shots in 4th quarters this season, it seems like the pressure really gets to him
