[Park] Sonny Gray, on the depth of the MN Twins rotation: “We’re not constantly waiting to get back to the top of the rotation for a good outing or a good start. We’ve got five guys that, say I go out there and shit the bed, the next guy picks me up.”

  1. This is the first year I can remember that I don’t even need to consider pitching matchups when buying tickets.

I don’t have to look at the schedule and try to avoid the Smeltzer, Bundy, Shoemaker, Homer Bailey, etc. start.

Obviously perfect health won’t last, but even the first 3 or 4 guys up from AAA will still be fun to watch.

  2. So much shade being thrown on Bundy, Smeltzer, and Archer you can hardly see them anymore lol

  3. Sonny has a way with words and sliders haha.

One thing about Sonny is I always imagine him as a big of a throwback, like he he is going to walk out of those cornfields in Field of Dreams or something. I wonder if it’s his name or how he looks. He does have an old timey baseball name.

  4. The 2023 Saint Paul Saints rotation might straight up be better than a couple of Twins rotations from the past decade. Honestly might be up and down 1-5 better than 2013. Especially if you count Winder and Woods-Richardson.

  5. Gray’s definitely decided to put his veteran status to good use with this starting rotation. He’s challenging the starters to pump each other to their top potential, he hasn’t hesitated to challenge Baldelli’s limited use of the rotation in the past successfully, so I like his attitude.
