  3. Seems very nitpicky to enforce this at this time of the season, but I guess the Mavs flubbed it so embarrassingly bad that the league wants to make an example of them (again)

    Hypocritical ass league won’t punish teams like Houston or Detroit. Only launching an investigation because Jason Kidd and Mark Cuban embarrassed them. You have Cuban praying on the sideline to lose and Kidd throwing the Mavs under the bus

    League made the rules where it incentivises teams to lose to get better in future, but then acts like it’s something bad when teams actually do this.

    Draft really needs to be reformed. It’s absurd how a lot of teams are playing not to win, but to lose. Defeats all purpose of the sport.

  14. Who cares? Fine them for talking about it openly but most teams in their position would have done the same. They suck and they’re not good enough to make it out of the play-in, might as well keep that pick.

    …. The mavericks tank but it involves screwing the Knicks over (or more likely they complained… the audacity after tampering Brunson free agency) and the league all of a sudden says 😡 😡 😡

  17. Fair or not, a combo of:

    1. Mavs saying the quiet parts out loud with no attempted subtlety at all.
    2. Mavs having two Stars while not being technically eliminated from playoffs purposely tanking.
    3. NBA and it’s increasing partnerships with gambling companies cannot have the perception in the slightest that it’s game is unfair.

    Contributed to this investigation. Not sure anything will come from it.

    …also could be that someone at NBA is tired of Cuban’s shit and decided to fuck with him, who knows lol.

  18. I’m not condoning it, but there are teams that have been tanking for damn near the entire season. Dallas isn’t the only team resting players. It was REALLY FUCKING STUPID for Kidd to say things publicly, but they’re not the only team doing this.

The funniest thing about this is, Mark Cuban got charged with (and eventually cleared of) insider trading by the SEC because one of the guys whose company he invested in told him unsolicitedly that they were doing a pump and dump if I remember correctly. So Cuban getting fucked by someone under-or-next to him for just not knowing how to keep their mouth closed is just a thing that happens to him.
