Second tweet: Suarez’s days kept lining up on off days, so he didn’t pitch much in actual exhibition games. A lot of back field and minor league stuff.
As you watch José Suarez tonight, something to keep in mind…
A scout who watched him pitch last week in Seattle said his stuff looked good at the start, but he seemed to run out of gas quickly. Could have been because of his weird spring training. (more)

Hopefully canning can get healthy and replace him
Well this proved fairly accurate. He should be a long reliever if anything.
Well he’s got terrible numbers 3rd time through so he probably should just be a reliever
That inning isn’t completely on him. Defense sucks
What’s up with the double standards with pitching?
When a starting pitcher messes up, everyone gives them a break.
When a reliever messes up, oMG thE BLoWpeN AgaIn!!!
Always one tough inning
Someone tell Nevin youre supposed to sub out the opener after 1-2 innings.
Is Suarez legit worse than Corbin? I’m not dooming or anything, just morbidly curious.
Dudes a bullpen arm not a starter. I just hope Nevin and Perry don’t need to see another start for them to just accept it.
Yeah this is pretty clear to basically everyone now. He will be an exceptional long reliever.
Pitch clock doesn’t help either. He’s like the slowest pitcher last year. But he always struggles the third time through lineup, so maybe let him pitch as reliever until he adapts to new pace of the game
A starting pitcher who runs out of gas quickly is not suitable.
