[Computer Cowboy] It’s kind of amazing what Tannehill was able to get out of the surrounding talent on that Titans team last year. Not a difficult argument to make that they had the worst receivers *and* O Line out of any team.

  1. Baldwin then goes on to express his disappointment in the idea that we’re looking at drafting Richardson for these reasons and the opportunity cost related to improving the supporting cast.

  2. Tannehill has been a good QB. He’s efficient. He’s not elite, and it’s really hard to win without an elite QB.

  3. I mean, he might have had the worst supporting cast. But still, what did he get out of them, exactly? We were awful on offense even when he played last year.

  4. This is why I’m fully behind Tanne, we had some hot garbage around him last year…. And we didn’t REALLY fall apart until he got hurt. So I’m not ready to bail on our boy quite yet! Keep slingin em Ryan!

  5. “chances of improving it aren’t great” is an asinine comment. we’re in the middle of the biggest WR boom in the history of the nfl. year after year there are studs coming out of the first three rounds.

    additionally…

    1) the OL is already improved (on paper from FA)

    2) todd gone

not an exact science. we know what tanney is, could he be borderline great again with an improved supporting cast? absolutely, but what does that get you? “maybe he won’t throw three picks in the divisional.”

i’ll take my chances with a trade up (tan will be here this year anyway if that happens), if you don’t have a guy at qb, you ultimately have nothing.

  6. This is genuinely the worst argument for keeping Tannehill. I agree last year he had HOT garbage as a supporting cast. What about 2-3 years ago? AJ Brown, PRIME Derick Henry, an Oline that was blowing dlines out of the water. He had a top tier RB/WR combo for 2 +years and we never made a superbowl (didnt even win a playoff game). Its way better for the organization to cut him. We will either sink and get Caleb Williams or float with Malik Willis/new QB we draft this year. But it should be clear to everyone Tannehill is not the guy

  7. This fool lost all his chances with them 3 picks in that playoff game against the Bengals. That was our best chance of winning the chip and he blew. Wasted the 9 sacks.

  8. Tannehill does not get enough recognition from us Titans fans. I get that people are still sour from his performance against Cincy, but you can’t put all thr blame on him.

  9. He’s not wrong. Mahomes would look pedestrian to slightly above average in that offense the Titans had last year.
