Can never win with sub 0.900 goaltending. Not sure where the counter argument to that is. Until we solve the save percentage problem this will be the result. Killed us in the playoffs last year and killed us for most of this season.

There’s a lot of problems, but goaltending is the biggest detriment imo. If we had league average goaltending we’d be in the playoffs. Markstrom and Vladar dropped the ball hard

It’s been a number of things, personally I’m fine with them taking some time to properly dissect things and find a path to un-fucking them for next year.
Sutter really isnt the problem. The team plays well generally and the metrics are good. They lack finishers and goaltending
Honestly the biggest problem? Frustration.
It seemed liked frustration or “trying too hard” created most of the mistakes in all areas of the ice, stars trying to make to perfect plays or shots leading to giveaways and posts/ missing the net, defence playing *mostly* solid but making bad mistakes when they do leading to breakaways, goaltending being miles below where it should have been…

If you look closely Murray Edwards has his baby finger pointed at himself, just so he’s not technically lying when we all realize it actually is him.
I thought they REALLY missed Tkachuk and Gaudreau in OT and on the PP.
It’s goaltending. Plain and simple. Who cares what the lines are when the puck is going in the net as soon as it gets out of the O-zone?? We had _multiple_ games this season where we allowed fewer than 25 shots, scored 3 goals, and lost. Like what tha fuck?!
And all this horseshit about we have bad chances and opponents have good chances is crap. No. That is incorrect. Our high danger chances for/against percentage in all situations was 11th in the league (actually a hair higher than fucking Boston’s).
I can’t believe anyone thinks there’s actually a discussion here. Markstrom fucked us by every metric. Guy didn’t show up to work this season. Good for him, he figured it out by March. Big whoop.
That guy’s stupid fucking face just makes me mad. I’m tired of wasting years waiting for this team to actually do something and the last thing I want is to blow a whole year on some donkey goaltender deciding he’s forgotten how to play the game.
Drafting has no right being included in this meme. Calgary routinely has our 1st rounders go higher in redrafts, and has an extremely good record at finding talent after the first round (Gaudreau, Fox, Andersson, Kylington, Mangiapane, Dube, Ruzicka; as well as up and comers like Wolf, Poirier, Phillips, Kusnetsov and Patterson).
