I think what makes Bedard hurt me more is his connection with the city and the team already. We always draft home town guys and after years you have a possibly McDavid level talent from your city in the draft, you’re team is not making the playoffs n fucking trash and you dont just throw the last 20 games for the best odds? Lets say owners are trying to make money too, isnt icing one of the biggest names in the draft since McDavid, first overall HOMETOWN BOY Bedard gonna fill the seats?
Bedard needs to pull a Lindros and say he’ll only play for us. Then we trade for the 1st overall. Two to three 1st rounders, Lekkerimaki, and whatever else of value not named Hughes and Pettersson.
