  1. Saw a lot of people here wondering what Landy’s injury actually is. This is probably the most accurate info we’ll get. If there are any doctors here, they can maybe try to explain what that mean to us laymen.

  2. I have something similar with my knee. I tore my meniscus over 20 years ago back then I played baseball. I ignored the pain til I re-injured it about six years later and still opted to not get it operated on, instead going the physical therapy route. It’s okay now until I try to do something physically demanding like run or go hiking, then it aggravates quickly.

  3. I’ve had a nagging knee injury for 8 months that doctors won’t examine because I’m not an athlete (and I can’t afford privatized care)

Fucking awful and reminds me of the same. For a period of time I couldn’t even jog.

  4. I did something like this in high school. My doctor told me I’d likely never run again. Surgery wasn’t really an option for me at the time. I missed out on my last year of track and doc was right. If I try running I aggravate it real fast.

  5. I have had both of my kneecaps (aka patellas) scoped to clean up the cartilage on the underside. Basically caused by a lifetime of sports with poor tracking of the kneecap past the femur. It was never a problem until it was, and my legs haven’t been the same. I was a college athlete, and now I can barely run, squats and lunges are a challenge, and I have to do constant maintenance stretching, drills, and massage to feel good enough to do anything more strenuous than walking.

I hope Gabe has a better outcome than I have had.

  6. I have a similar injury and skate frequently. It took a while to get to a point where it didn’t hurt again, over a year. Gotta go hard on stretching and strengthening. Surgery does little. He’ll get there.

  7. No wonder this has been so prolonged. Wasn’t your typical acl tear in regards to most knee injuries. He has all the best doctors in the world right now, but tbh this worries me about his future in the league. Fuck I hope he can get back to playing

  8. Why am I getting the Peter Fosberg feeling from Landy… his legs are going to make him leave early… 🙁
