Is today national “fire hockey personnel” day?

So far the tally is at:

Penguins: President of operations Brian Burke, GM Ron Hextall, and assistant manager Chris Pryor.

It’s my first season as a hockey fan. So is this normal?

  1. Yes.

Teams finished the regular season and aren’t in the playoffs so they’re officially in off-season mode.

When you’re unhappy with your coaching / FO, you can them immediately so you can start building towards next year.

  2. Why fire the coach who helped guaruntee the best chances at 1OA?

I mean I understand the pens, but Anaheim and CBJ have been in tankmode all season.
