[Brandt] Have to see details of Hurts deal, but Eagles strategy clear: 1. Get in before Burrow and Herbert. 2. Throw big signing bonus in front of him, huge $ vs. scheduled rookie contract salary of peanuts. 3. Have big average (>50M) in order to avoid the Watson full guarantee issue.

Injury guarantees:
1) Deshaun Watson, Browns: $230.0M
2) Russell Wilson, Broncos: $196.0M
3) Kyler Murray, Cardinals: $189.5M
4) Jalen Hurts, Eagles: $179.3M
Kyler being guaranteed more money than Hurts is completely indefensible. Just another Eagles W.
Five years is nice as well, gives the eagles some flexibility and should only look better as time goes by
So aav ignores his rookie deal or includes? Does it make a difference?
Doesn’t sound like we threw a big bonus his way.
When a guy takes you to the Superbowl for roughly $1M it’s not exactly prudent to try and nickel and dime him
He made some concessions to give the team some wiggle room when his next extension is due but fortunately he’s still getting the bag up front like he deserves
This is Howie do it.
I’m not even gonna pretend to be knowledgeable about the pros and cons of the details of the contract’s structure. If Howie’s happy with it, and Jalen’s happy with it, that’s good enough for me haha
100%agree. Both sides are happy then this is a big win for the Eagles and the fan base.
Now Howie can put full attention to the draft…win win here..
Good for Hurts and the team. Done without drama is a fan bonus.
Now to see what his work ethic is really about. The next five generations of his family are set for life, does he stay the hardest worker in the room?
Funny in my mind it was like “get in before lamar!” And this guy doesn’t even mention that.
