Praying for the #1 pick, but this draft has a ton of talent 1 through 5.

Comparing Miller to Ingram is wild to me. Ingram always had an elite handle and is a great playmaker the past few seasons
Miller is more like Trey Murphy or MPJ
Amen is similar to Detroit Grant Hill imo
If we get the 2 pick I honestly think we should pick miller. I’d rather take the risk of the higher upside of a 6’9″ forward than the safety of a 6’2″ pg that will be good but not lead us to a chip.
The league is a game dominated by forwards and pg’s under 6’5 being the #1 option on a team very rarely lead teams to a finals win. Only exceptions are curry, Isaiah Thomas and who else in the last 30 years?
You might say but Ja is under 6’5″ and the grizzlies are set for the future, but I would argue he isn’t even Grizzlies best player, it’s JJJ in that regard.
If the pick isn’t top 3 then trade that mf

This draft is top 3 or bust at best honestly. Not to say there aren’t any other good players, but it falls off hard after that.
Wemby is the only one I’m drafting without question.
Any pick outside of 1 and I’m making calls and seeing what I can get for it. If the offers suck, then okay we cross our fingers and draft but do we REALLY need ANOTHER guy that needs a couple years to get good?
We have more than enough young talent that has the potential to be dynastic at their peaks but we need at least one superstar that can take some of the pressure off of the young players and draw the attention of the opponent’s best defenders so Jalen and Sengun and company can do their thing against the #2 and #3 defenders and build up their success rate.
I guess I’ll draft Scoot since we don’t have a point guard we believe in yet (I like TyTy but we need more than doing well in the G League; Nix was able to do that lol) but I’d still at least inquire what some of these teams that are stuck on the treadmill of mediocrity but have really good players are willing to do for a Scoot or Brandon Miller.
And if the best we can get is a Thompson twin, then hell yeah we sell to the highest bidder. (To me the whole Overtime Elite thing is a huuuuuge red flag)
