  1. It’s on Scottie as well as he does get passive, but Nurse ran no plays or sets for him for two whole years with this whole stupid free flow style offence that was run by the PG who was Fred. We need a coach that puts him in the position to do this nightly, running plays and sets, running an actual offence

  2. When we put expectations on him like this, this is when we turn on him as a fan base and we all loose it on him for not developing

  3. It’s honestly on Scottie too to be aggressive. He said it himself in his end of season interview. He currently doesn’t have the physical endurance to consistently play hard on both ends. I’m expecting big things from him after this summer

  4. Scottie at times isn’t aggresive enough but the other half of the time scottie is calling for the ball when hes wide fucking open, and Pascal/Fred completely ignore him.

  5. He needs to be accountable to provide more scoring throughout the game, it’s great he’s clutch but those 4th quarter comebacks aren’t sustainable

If that ends up bringing more games like
    this one, bring it on

  6. I don’t mind this post.
In fact, if FVV is the leader he purports himself to be then wouldn’t the vets want to construct a path to where they are developing new avenues for getting points. Why was the last two seasons Barnes fitting into and developing/supporting known entities of FVV and Pascal?
It did seem odd. If they were winning with that formula … okay. But they weren’t.
On that playoff loss to 76’rs last year Scottie was playing and getting his.

  7. I’m NOT saying I want this but j kidd comes to mind as a PG with great vision that can shoot. Not sure he’s a great coach tho lol.

I haven’t heard Nash mentioned much. Idk if he’s good either but nice guy and Canadian are both checkmarks imo.

  8. The way we ran our offence didn’t do anyone favours. It put us in a position to take low % shots and not spread the ball around. I don’t whether it was by design (to conserve energy on the defensive end and prevent turnovers) but obviously it wasn’t working.

Scottie also needs to be more aggressive. He said his conditioning wasn’t at the level needed to play both ends hard. Hopefully an off-season working on that helps.

Overall though, Scottie is still a limited player. He’s going to need to improve as a ball handler and improve his pull up shot if he wants to have a bigger offensive role. It’s something we need from him so I hope it happens. Him and Fred can then be the primary ball handlers, with Pascal playing more in the corners and then getting his post touches. Point Pascal isn’t bad, but it’s not maximizing the skills on the court. Pascal is actually a pretty good C&S guy in his career, especially from the corners.

As of right now though, once Scottie has the conditioning, let’s get him moving more on offence and run sets that allow him to come off screens into the paint to free him up. From there he’s an amazing passer and finisher.

  9. Ngl he is running the floor harder here than probably any other time I’ve seen him this season. That’s half the battle with Scottie. Sure the vets look him off when he’s open sometimes, but he can’t sulk or slack because of it. The good habits I see in this video just aren’t there consistently and that’s a big reason why he had an underwhelming sophomore season.

  10. When his jumper is consistently at the level we see in these highlights he’ll put himself in the position to score 20+ every night.
