  1. Look I get people want a new voice – I do too. Griffin isn’t my ideal candidate. But Masai made the right choice hiring Nick in 2018, so I trust him to do the same now. Everyone wanted us to get Bud but Nick was the right choice. Some thought he would just be Casey 2.0.

Just cause Griffin was an assistant under Nick doesn’t mean he’s the same.

  2. Lol

Edit: Masai has said AG has been knocking on the door for a head coaching job for a while now

  3. Interesting. They retained him, so does that mean he will stick with the staff even if he is unable to land a head coaching job anywhere else? 🤔

  4. Lmao this place is going to explode.

Of course he’s going to get interviewed. And people are crazy to think he doesn’t have his own voice. He could scrap every one of Nurse’s philosophies, just like Nurse did to Casey’s. Just ask yourself why Masai would fire Nurse to replace him with a replica.

Everyone was saying he was an inch away from a head coaching role anyways…but now it could be with us, it’s some terrible idea.

    This sub man 😂

  5. I don’t know why but this guys face just doesn’t inspire confidence for me…maybe it’s that he looks bewildered 90% of the time or his bulging eyes

  6. Ngl, I want someone from the outside BAD. I love me some AG. Wouldn’t be surprised if he were to coach Detroit next szn

  7. Not gonna lie Adrian Griffens facial expressions give me the “idk how I got this job but here I am” look every time I see him lol

  8. Regarding Griffin, he’s been given consideration for other head coach gigs so it’s only a matter of time before he becomes “a” head coach in the NBA

  9. I love how all these people overreact and assume someone getting an interview automatically means he’s being hired as the next head coach…

  10. Lol so so bad.

Another coach to give FVV the green light. No development for anyone else.

  11. They haven’t fired any assistants yet and this is just a standard interview that any team would do for their assistants lol people need to relax

  12. Hey he deserves an interview at least. He’s been getting interviews since the 2020 season iirc. He knows the players and the culture. Next man up mentality

  13. Bring back Dwane Casey. He is a good developmental coach, which is honestly what we need if Masai gets over his delusions of this team being a championship contender.

  14. Griffin has been interviewing for HC spots for the past two years. It says something that he hasn’t gotten one. But also that he’s heavily considered.

  15. Adrian knows the players already and he knows the flaws of NN not to repeat them

  16. Considering the rumble about drama and the idea that Nurse lost the locker room its actually a good sign.

It may imply Griffin wasn’t part of the problem, and they may have belief in his character. If the players already disliked him they likely wouldn’t waste their time.

Now my curiosity is if Nate applies.

  17. It’s gonna be one of :

    – Kenny Atkinson
    – Jesse Mermuys
    – Charles Lee

They’re out on Ettore Messina and Becky Hammon is not happening.

  18. Griffin seems like a good dude, but I think I’d rather they go with an outside hire this time. It’s tough to lead a culture reset with a voice that was already in the building.

  19. I think he could be a decent coach. It this team needs a major overhaul. Interview him out of respect but you can’t go with him

  20. If its Griffin. Lets give him a shot before talkin shit.

People talked a megatonne of shit when Nurse replaced Casey.
