Starling Marte leads MLB in getting robbed of base hits by great plays (stat)

  1. In response to one possible question that may come up from my posting that stat …

    He has not been “gifted” any base hits by defensive misplays this season, so it’s not like something has happened to offset these 7 great plays.

  2. Marte looked bad the last couple of games because he’s likely playing through an injury. Regardless, he hit two balls yesterday with xBAs above .500, so that is progress.

  3. Marte and McNeil are our two best hitters in terms of consistency. Most of the time, you can count on them to have a good at bat and a chance of a hit.

    Guys like Lindor and Pete are frustrating to watch sometimes. They can be so streaky (Lindor in particular). There can be weeks at a time where I just have no faith in them and then other weeks where it feels like everything is a hit

  4. I remember last year when I was just getting into baseball there are apparently a large amount of people who think defense doesn’t matter. I’m pretty sure these people are just stupid.
