  1. I think I like it for now. Once Soto and Manny are back to their normal selves they’ll go back to the old line up

  2. Have to split him and Soto up for now, can’t have 2 guys in the top 3 spots consistently going hitless in games.

  3. I appreciate Melvin sticking with the same lineup for so long. These guys are supposed to be the best of the best, you shouldn’t have to resort to lineup tweaks to get them right. But they’ve really forced his hand here, hopefully this will work.

  4. I fuckin love it. Whatever helps to get him back to normal. Once he is good again we will be unstoppable, right?

  5. I’ve been wanting this lineup. Will be fun watching L/R/L/R – at the top of the order.

  6. Looks good! Manny needs some lower pressure ABs to get his head right. Plus after a while a batting order needs to be based on results rather than expectations.

  7. Yes this is good will see what happens in todays game, it’s early in the season to experiment with new lineups.

  8. This is a good example of Eddie Jones’ “meat pie” theory of sport

Elite sports is like eating a meat pie every day, although circumstances change, the skills etc required don’t. Sometimes you need to do something to distract the guys from the fact it’s the same meat pie – eat it with relish instead of ketchup, serve it a different time etc – to get them back shovelling it into their mouths with glee again

  9. I think it’s great. It’s needed. It will probably help him fight and motivate him.

Fire needs to be lit under the batoot. I think this’ll do the trick.

  10. Good. Manny needs a little pressure taken off. He’s swinging at awful first pitches consistently. He needs to work counts more and be patient for pitches he wants

  11. Do whatever it takes to get Machado back to his old form, he’s obviously not cutting it right now offensively, he looks lost at the plate all of the sudden just like his buddy Juan

  12. Fuck yeah, Jake leading off. That’s my baby. Kim deserves to be a little higher

  13. I’m just glad they are splitting up Soto and Machado. If both can’t hit you don’t want them back-to-back in the lineup.

  14. I like this move. Whenever the generational hitters become alive: 1.) Xander; 2.) Tatis; 3.) Soto; 4. Manny; 5. Cruz/Carp; 6. Crone; 7. HSK; 8. Grish; 9. Campy

  15. I for one, prefer doing the same thing over and over again and expecting different results.

  16. My thoughts are as of right now, he’s never not hit a home run in that situation
