Will of course hope this pick turns out to be a win, but I’d be lying if I said I felt great about this. The pick swap ended up really hurting us tonight, losing out on Jones was pretty disappointing. This sort of feels like we just took BPA because we couldn’t trade out of this spot. I would have rather reached on JSN and been loaded at receiver. In JD we trust, wish I felt better about this one though we all know how important first round picks are.
This dude is a heat seeking piss missile. Are the commenters even watching the video? Holy shit this kid is fast and gets to the ball quickly. His best plays might be at Edge but I bet we can find a way to make him work as OLB. If not, fuck it. Another elite Edge is always needed. Look how far SF gets with an elite DL. Defense starts there. When Sauce has his dude locked up, McDonald comes in for the coverage sack.
A lot of talk how this guy may actually turn out to be a huge steal. Iowa’s defensive scheme is weird, with the Jets he should really eat.
I don’t know whether McDonald will be good.
What I do know is that immediate post draft takes are meaningless. Let’s wait until he plays before we judge.

I think there’s a lot to like, keeping in mind we’re past the blue chippers, and team draft boards can vary wildly. Certainly out of character with analyst draft boards, which doesn’t inspire confidence, but our defensive picks have been good lately, so I’ll wait to see it on the field.

Defintely killed some hype coming off an amazing week, but he seems to be a solid rotational guy. Hopefully him, Johnson, and Lawson can all have 5+ sacks.
It’s not a sexy pick but I think it’s solid. It’s been said enough, AFC is a stacked QB division and we need madmen going after the QB all game long. Depth depth depth.

I was underwhelmed by this hype video. I keep reading about the speed but couldn’t see it much on the video.
Honestly he looks like the kind of guy that fits Salah scheme and mindset.
None of us know. They need to address the O-line in the next few rounds though.

All the negativity on this pick and watch him turn out to be a solid player. Then everyone will change their tune and act like they knew he was a steal. Regardless the game is won in the trenches. They missed on OL might as well take a DE.
