  1. god I’m still waiting for Undertaker and Kane to come on out for our 4th line pair wingers

  2. Could mean they’re in the lineup for game 6 which would be a great thing for us right now. Who knows though.

  3. Meanwhile Tampa probably has a mandatory practice with everyone on the ice, doing drills, watching tape, preparing.

At least when they return to tampa they’ll probably do that

  4. For everyone who is suggesting that Liljegren is coming in cold, a brief reminder that Bunting has only played 8:30 more than Liljegren has this entire series.

  5. Scratch ZAR and Lafferty, roll 7 D (Lily in) and bring back Bunts.

    Lines 1-3 have been fire.

Line 4 is a trainwreck, but you need Kampf for PK.

Skate the top 9 until they fucking die. Earn the extra days off by closing out the series in Tampa.

Bunts and Holl on a short leash (god I hope).

  6. At the end of the day, there’s hope that Liljegren grows into a pivotal cog of this machine. So it’s easier to stomach mistakes as he grows in that role. There’s just no excuse for Holl. He’s a big body that plays small with no pay off. I’d roll the dice every day on youth.

  7. I don’t know who you bench for bunting. kerfoot has been the worst forward. Maybe bench him to wake him up? Otherwise it’s probably ZAR. One things for certain, kerfoots out of the top 9.

  8. Why not try Gus over Lily? Lily wasn’t too great down the end stretch, Gus is experienced, no?

  9. I like Liljegren, but let’s be honest, he wasn’t playing well down the stretch. A lot of turnovers. But he can’t put up worse numbers than Holl has this series. I can’t see it. Yes, messing with a winning lineup is generally unwise, but the Leafs have been outplayed for the most part, despite having the series win.

And this might be a hot take, but why not Timmins? He’s got high-end playmaking abilities and good defensive instincts. He’s also faster than Holl. I’ve also seen him be more physical than Holl. When our blue line was depleted earlier in the season, Timmins stepped up. I get that he hasn’t played a lot of hockey over the past few years due to various injuries. And I get that he doesn’t have much playoff experience (but Knies had none and he hasn’t looked miscast). But I think he can handle bottom pairing minutes and will be less of a liability than Holl is right now.
