Game 6 stats- power play looking sadly all too familiar

How in thr world do we fix this? PP looked good earlier this season but with all the opportunities we’ve had this series it feels like we’re getting in our own way on the man up.

  1. PP seems to rely on high-end skill, which we lack right now especially with Burky and McCann on the mend.

  2. PP success early in the season was pretty fluky. A lot of greasy goals that made the numbers look better than the play. The team got slightly more creative with how they moved the puck around and forced defense to respond but generally it was the same as last year only now they could try a Matty one-timer that never worked. To me it is the biggest coaching gap in the organization and has always been my primary complaint.

  3. You know which ever team goes on to face Dallas is going to have an otherworldly PP somehow, Oettinger or not

  4. Something seemed off for everyone but gru like they couldn’t handle or see the puck at times

  5. The 5 on 5 Offense stats are more worrisome to me from the game last night. MacKinnon had his way with us for the most part for the first time this series and our offense suffered because of it

  6. Yesterday was just so disappointing. Every last issue this team has had all year made an appearance last night. The jumbled mess PP and we couldn’t win a face off to save our lives. Honestly it felt like there was a magnet in the puck because Colorado seemed to have control of the thing the entire game

  7. Power play didn’t really have anything to do with last night imo. The extra man just didn’t change how we were already playing

  8. We’re missing our two forwards most close to the elite offensive level that good powerplays need in McCann and Burky, so unfortunately not super surprising.

  9. Special Teams and Defense key off-season priorities

Missing Burakovsky and McCann doesn’t help. People will say how PK didn’t give up a goal but i saw 10 minutes of the Avs dominating a tired onntheir heals Kraken team

  10. The only thing that helps make me feel less bad is that pk is firing on all cylinders at least

  11. I like how it shows Grubauer did not have a quality start, yet he was awarded the 2nd star of the game. How it that? I think sometimes there are too many stats and they don’t reflect the actual play. That being said, our PP needs to improve. Thankfully or PK unit is getting it done in this series.
