    Edit: basically the Goligoski bridge deal, gets us through the cap hell, could potentially pay him more at the end. Billy G is the man.

  4. Great signing. Hopefully he and Boldy can get going early next year and help us get through the cap hell with some exciting hockey. MoJo was one of the few bright spots in the playoffs. Good job GMBG

  7. I was really wrong about Marcus Johansson.

    I believe that I said “don’t we have enough middling wingers already?” But he came out and played really well. Lots of spark, hustle, and some part of what they need and needed.

    I am happy he’s in the mix for the next two years at a very reasonable price.

  13. At the end of the year and playoffs that line got a bit underwhelming but I bet they’ll pick it back up again when Ek is back providing some great net front presence so Boldy/Johansson can run wild.

  21. That he signed this deal so quickly after getting bounced in the first round speaks volumes to the locker room and Guerin’s plan.

  22. I was super disappointed when we signed him again but am pleased to be so wrong. He looked fast and had great chemistry with Boldy. Great signing.

    This is a fucking steal and is sooo huge for us. Gives us someone with proven chemistry with Boldy and ensure that we should have two dynamic scoring lines locked in. He had 18 points in 20 games with us (don’t recall playoff stats). Could that rate drop off? Sure. But we could also end up with a top six winger with dynamic skating and solid skill who threatens for a point per game for only 2 MILLION AAV!!! Billy G you sly son of a bitch you.

  26. Johansson and Nyquist were both great pickups and even just being able to keep one of them for another season is great news.

  27. I was hoping we would re-sign him but closer to the 1.5 he was already making. I do think that .5 matters with the cap penalties

    also was a lot higher on him in the regular season and he kind of ghosted the playoffs although he did get 2 goals including a seriously highlight reel that I could watch all day

    no hate for the man but he also has a history of playing great in the regular season and then kind of disappearing in the post:

    16-17: 24 goals then 2 in 13 postseason games

    18-22: 56 goals over w many teams then 5 goals in 32 postseason games

    22-23: 19 goals this year then 2 in the post and a -5

    that said I do trust in Billy G and I like jojo I just wish we had more players that had a history of IMPROVING or really stepping it up in the playoff

  28. God damn did he turn me around. Saw sparks of his improvement with Seattle. Glad we can keel him for relatively cheap (even with dead cap)
