Excited for Rodgers and the Jets?

After watching the Pat McAfee show today with Rodgers on it, I can only be happy and excited to watch him / the Jets this year. Am I losing my mind for saying that? He just seems so genuinely happy and enjoying football at the moment and I feel like I haven’t seen him this happy in years. Still really excited for Love and all of our rookies and our new guys going into their 2nd year and just as excited to watch the Jets.

Just wondering if any packers fans feel the same as me or if I’m just losing my mind.

  1. I hope he plays a minimum of 65% of snaps and that they lose every game they play.

  2. Can I hope he is happy this season but they have a bad season so our pick is better? Liked what he gave GB but he is no longer on the team and I don’t really care about his success other than the fact the worse their season is the better our pick is.

  3. Let’s put it this way I want a top 10 pick, but not due to our record

  4. Hahaha y’all are savage tonight. I think the only way I root against Rodgers and Lazard this year is if it’s Packers / Jets Super Bowl

  5. Hurts to see so many people buy into all the media drama. Rodgers is awesome. Fuck the haters.

Excited for Love and the young team!

Going to be a great season with 0 expectations.

  6. Just happy the AH is gone. If you’re so thrilled for him, you are NOT a Packers fan – just a Rodgers sycophant. Get out.

  7. I’m just looking forward to the next time he does something weird and gets slaughtered by the New York media. Then we can dunk on him like everybody else has been for the past five years.

  8. Not in the least. Only hope he plays the prerequisite amount so we get our first. The worst the Jets’ record is, the better our pick, so….

  9. I’ll always have a soft spot for him, but seeing him workout with players on the Jets at this point of the offseason after having not done it for years with the Packers just rubs me the wrong way. And I don’t believe for one sec it’s because of the warm and fuzzies he’s getting from the Jets. It’s simply to save face in advance.

  10. Of course. I’ll always love watching Rodgers play, he kept this team relevant for 15 years.

Jets are legit contenders this year

  11. No. I’m a Packers fan first and only a Packer fan. Anybody playing on another team is competition. When he retires I’ll welcome him back but not before then.

Edit: two other reasons why I’m not rooting for him or the Jets.

    1) the conditional draft pick – others stated it, but needs to be mentioned. Rodgers plays healthy but the Jets suck and we get a nice pick. Hard to root for them as a Packers fan

    2) the Rodgers/Love transition has been divisive to some extent. The same was true with Favre/Rodgers. What helped back then was Rodgers’ success coupled with Favre turding it up in NY (and eventually playing for the Vikings). Like it or not we have now cast our lot with Love. If he fails (and worse yet, Rodgers succeeds) the debate about this transition never dies. Continued or amplified questioning of the transition in the media would not help the development of a young QB like Love. I know there are some out there who hope that happens just because of their disdain for Gute. But nothing is better for the Packers and their fans than success. I for one, as a fan, want nothing more than for this to be put to bed and look forward to the possibility of extending the Packers stretch of top tier QB play for another 15 years (and some more Lombardi trophies to go with it).

  12. I’m glad he’s enjoying it over there. Everything eventually comes to its end, Rodgers and the Packers weren’t going to be an exception. I know he’s said dumb stuff over the past couple of years and continues to do so, but Rodgers made being a Packers fan pretty awesome for a very long time. I’ll always appreciate that and am still glad that he was my favorite team’s QB. So personally, I’ll just be happy for him if things go great in NY. The 2024 pick can shake out however it wants. I won’t be rooting against him or the Jets.

  13. Absolutely. I’m hoping that he can get one more ring. Wish it could have been with us but im rooting for the Jets. Hopefully they win the Super Bowl and he can ride off into the sunset as a champion. Its annoying that Rodgers gets dragged for only having one ring. So yes, I’m excited for Rodgers and the Jets and wish them a very successful season. I dont just turn my fandom for players off when they go to different teams. Rodgers has been my favorite player to root for and watch. Just so happens he is on the Jets now.

I have my whole life to be a Packers fan. They aren’t going anywhere. However Rodgers won’t be playing forever so im gonna cheer for him while I can.

  14. I wouldn’t be upset if Rodgers/the Jets go deep in the playoffs or win the superbowl, but I’d also love them crashing and burning and getting a top pick

  15. The man has soured my perception of him as a person. Loved him as a packer and will forever be appreciative of having him on our team. Now that he isn’t a Packer and I don’t have to like him because he is a Packer, I hope he plays 65% of the snaps and looks like shit.

I hope Jordan Love makes the pro bowl and puts up impressive stats for a first year starter.

  16. He looked happy when he started dating Olivia Munn too, but that didn’t end well.

  17. Seeing as he’s my all time favorite player, of course I’m excited to watch him cook. Now would I like a top 10 pick from the Jets? Sure, but I’m not gonna be mad if Rodgers leads them to a great season, either would be fine by me.

  18. His act gets annoying quickly when hes no longer our QB. Fuck that it’s Love szn.

  19. Uh…no. ive never been interested in the jets and im not now. I would bet $$ that yes, the jets will have a better season w AR, but i dont think theyre winning the superbowl. AR couldnt do it in GB, he not going to do it in NJ. The entire fault of him not coming through in a clutch moment cannot be because of GBP management.
