  1. Love it.

But they’ll give it to Bergeron. He’s likely retiring and they’ll want to make it up to him for the Bruins’ embarrassing loss.

  2. Why don’t they just call this The Patrice Bergeron Invitational Trophy ffs

  3. Jere Lehtinen is proud.

What’s the ‘best’ advanced stat to judge how good someone is defensively?

  4. Glad to see Mitch finally get the nod, he puts in the work and deserves it! He has mentioned more than a few times he wanted to be in consideration, so I hope he enjoys the nomination.

On a side note, I did find it odd that at the start of the season Keefe, unprompted from what I remember, put it out there that Mitch should be considered for the Selke. I just found it strange Keefe brought it up in the way he did, the trophy talk seemed a little out of character for him. I always thought that maybe it was a tactic purposely done by the team to put Mitch in the minds of media and the voters early. Mitch should have received the votes either way, but I wonder if the, “hey this guy would like a Selke nom, you should pay attention to him this season ~~(and not ignore him because Toronto)~~” helped a little bit.
