  3. Finally. Every rags fan I’ve heard talk about it just says they choked or blew it. Idk what they were expecting or why their hype levels for the cup were so delusional high this year. We had a better record than them, good enough for the third best in the league and went 3-0-1 against them in the regular season. Did they really think we’d play as poorly as the first two games for the entire series?

    And I don’t understand why they all thought this year was *the* year for them at all. They fell short at the ECF last year and they didn’t really improve their roster significantly since then. They’re also a year older with a core on the wrong side of 30. Their young talent hasn’t developed at all, Kane and Tarasenko are just depth pieces at this point in their careers. They finished third in the division and the playoff race in the East was stacked going into it. There was no indication that they were a real cup contender going into the playoffs, but ask them and they’ll tell you this was one of the greatest rosters ever assembled. They’re devastated right now. But anyone paying attention shouldn’t be surprised at all. I really wonder why they were so hyped this year with a pretty unremarkable team.

  6. Very easy to pump the tires of the other team when your two choices are 1) we sucked and played like shit; or 2) they played well.

    Trouba is a POS. This isn’t him showing sportsmanship, it is him deflecting blame.

  7. He’s not wrong, and its beautiful. Their own Captain is killing the entire fanbases only coping mechanism right now.

  9. People acting all shocked that the Devils beat the Rangers as if the Devils didn’t finish with a better record and went 3-0-1 in the season series.

  10. Wow, I literally hate that man but he’s giving us credit. I knew it’d be a ‘The Rangers are terrible’ narrative rather than ‘Check out the Devils, looking pretty good’ after Game 7.

  13. I have 2 big time Ranger fans that I am close with. After the loss they both said that they weren’t super upset with the result. Of course they wanted to win, but they felt like the Devils outplayed the Rangers most of the games and weren’t expecting a sudden change in Game 7. Its not everyone who underrates us, just the national media because New York.

    As an aside…as a Knicks and Devils fan, its strange to listen to the sports media around here. When its hockey, its only about the Rangers with very little to the Devils. So I can see how other teams/markets must feel when constantly hearing about the Knicks. NY media for you.

  18. Loved having Stevens on the team delivering big hits. Maybe we can find a hitter of our own ?
