[Kevin Sheehan] So @ByMikeJones just told us on @team980 that there was talk around the league that Washington was interested in moving up to the #Raiders 7-spot to potentially take Anthony Richardson. But Richardson went 4 to Indy so that fell apart. #Commanders

  1. Would have loved pairing AR15 with EB, even if he took a few seasons to develop.

Glad we are giving Howell his shot though.

  2. Given our history it probably wouldn’t have worked out well for us – but it would’ve been intriguing pairing him with Bienemy and seeing how it played out.

  3. Glad we didn’t take AR. 2nd round? Definitely. But he only started one season on a bad team. Too risky.

  4. I’m tired of the stories every year about how we almost made a move for a franchise QB but just fell short. Stafford, Fields, and now Richardson.

  5. I’m interested in becoming a millionaire, but I don’t play the lottery.

  6. Gonna be honest. Really glad this didn’t happen. I’m sure he’s a great dude, but nothing about this suggests it’s gonna work out.

Started 1 year at Florida. Had a very meh record. And very meh stats, with an absolutely awful completion percentage. I get that maybe Florida hasn’t been great in his time there. But all I really see is physical upside and I can’t see that as worth a first round pick, let alone a top 10 pick.

If he fell to the second round maybe.

  7. “Talk around the league” strikes me as “Someone made a comment about Washington maybe wanting a QB” and adding “Anthony Richardson’s stock has been rising,” with those two ideas combined to be this rumor.

I don’t doubt it is possible, but nothing about this strikes me as there having been actual conversations between Washington other teams.

  8. Probably didn’t happen. I don’t care what “talk around the league” was.

  9. I am so high on Richardson, was hoping we’d trade up with the cardinals for him

  10. so the commanders take a raw prospect at 4, giving up picks, with a lame duck coach at the helm who has to win now

it’s jay gruden and haskins all over again…

  11. It’s better to be lucky than good. And we are lucky that he was taken at #4.

  12. I highly suspect we will give up a lot to move up next year, so everyone get ready for that

  13. I want the new coach/gm to pick the next quarterback. We always fall into this trap of a lame duck inheriting a QB they don’t want.

  14. Thank god that plan fell through. Why the fuck would anyone draft a QB who CAN’T PASS?

  15. I almost bought my wife concert tickets.

    I mean I didn’t.

    But I almost did.

  16. Trading up for anything outside of offensive lineman would have been a travesty
