[Passan] Only 34 days remain in the Nevada legislature’s session. The Assembly speaker: “If something was going to happen, it really should have been in place last week.” The A’s deal to buy the land for a potential Las Vegas stadium is dependent upon the passage of the $500M tax package.

  1. There’s still hope!!! Stay strong A’s fans. Relocation sucks and I wouldn’t wish it upon my worst enemy

  2. Something has been fishy since day one. I suspect the Vegas announcement was meant to kick Oakland into high-gear for the last millions, but it backfired. Now the unintended LV push is showing it’s faults and getting push-back.

If Oakland decides to play obstinate with Fisher, MLB might have to step in and mediate/force a sell so that an Oakland deal can get done.

  3. So if I’m understanding this correctly, the binding agreement the A’s have for the land is contingent on the local government agreeing to give the A’s that $500M (via that tax package). If the government does not agree to do it within the next 34 days… then what? Can they agree to it when they come back into session, or is there a definitive deadline for this?

  4. Hope Oakland makes Fisher crawl back to Oakland if he wants to keep the team

  5. The dream scenario of Fisher having to sell, tail between his legs, and then the new owner staying in Oakland, is one step closer to reality. #hopium
