  1. “If approval for the package does not come through, the team could withdraw from the agreement to purchase the stadium site.”

“‘In my mind, if we’re going to do something, it’s better to do it in a regular session than in the special session,’ he said.”

“‘Probably another week or so is the timeline for that if something’s going to happen…’”

  2. It seems the state legislator doesn’t have the appetite to push something like this through without a lot more time for considerations.

  3. Looks like typical Fisher/Kaval mismanagement. This looking more and more like a leverage play gone wrong before the “summit” Oakland and the was supposed to have last week….

  4. And it seems like the locals aren’t that enthusiastic about the A’s so hopefully the legislators listen to their constituents. I’ve been reading they are having issues with their public schools and government time and money should really take precedent on those issues not whether to steal a baseball team that they don’t seem to want.

  5. I love that the future of the A’s will depend on a man wearing a bolo tie.

  6. >“There hasn’t been a concrete plan that’s been presented to the Legislature,” Yeager said. “And I read in the media too, and it seems like every story talks about it in a different way. So in my mind, until there’s some kind of concrete ask, there’s really not much to discuss.”

They may still get want they want from the legislature, but this sure makes it sound like they didn’t have all their ducks in a row when the land purchase story came out. Legislative leaders should not still be guessing at what Fisher is asking for.
