Really sad about this remembering his dark knight era. Unfortunate to see how his career panned out, felt like he could of been more.
Almost 5 years to the day, Mets trade him to Reds during series with the Reds, for Devin Mesoraco. Devin actually plays for the Mets after starting the day as a Red. Mes refused to lay in the minors and returned the next year. Mes gave the Mets 66 games for a .222 BA, Harvey went 7-7 4.50 in a half season in Cincy. Not sure who won or lost that trade but that was an interesting shake up.
Cincinnati had no hope and he was a ray of light here haha. I wish he had signed with us and knew he was heading for a downfall under the big lights of LA, I think he could have done more in a smaller market. By the time he got to KC it was over.
I recall one METS radio announcer making such a big deal about this guy and the whole Dark Knight thing. What a bunch of nonsense… How many METS phenom pitchers have they had? 🙄
Career: 50 wins, 66 losses, and a 4.42 earned run average, through nine seasons. Here’s wishing Matt Harvey well.
