  1. Good. Now let’s see them forecheck for real tonight and give us a good game please and thank you.

  2. Listen, the first game the Canes had their legs. They’ve had quick legs all season, but coming off rest they’re bound to have more.

We got punched in the mouth. Not much different than what happened in game 1 of the Rangers series. Now there is a difference in that we were faster and more skilled than the Rangers so we knew we could make it up.

These Canes will match us with speed, it’s just that we need to find different lanes than we used the Rangers.

Film study is paramount these days and I know the kids have been deep in the tablets looking for these new said lanes.

These kids know how to make adjustments but doing it on the fly isn’t always easy. Give them a night to sleep on it and another day to practice and I’m sure we’ll see a different team tonight.

I also have not even remotely lost any confidence I have in Schmid. The same thing for him. Young kid. Needs to see the film and see the angles they are using. Canes just pepper teams with shots. Where as the Rangers pick and choose their shots. It’s just a new game for Schmid but I fully believe he’s got it.

  3. Blackwood should be starting the rest of the series. Schmid seems to have fallen off, and Washington let VV go for a reason… we need a proven starter in net. Maybe Schmid needs another season to cook in Utica before we ride him through the playoffs.

  4. As long as we create for ourseleves I think Schmid will be fine. A lot of last game came down to allowing way too much pressure in the beginning. If we have more than 1 shot on goal through the first 25 minutes I think we’ll be good.

  5. I haven’t seen a single goal Schmid let in and thought “Vanecek would’ve saved that.” It’s not like we have a Shesterkin-quality goalie on the bench.

  6. He wasn’t bad. First goal was a seeing eye shot, second goal I think hit off the post and in. Third goal shouldn’t even have fucking happened because of bullshit and incompetent reffing.

Vitek let in the worst goal of the night.

  7. Hoping to see something a little more like the defensive clinic we put on for them in the 4 game vs Canes of the season. Mostly kept them to the sides and far away, VV had to come up with a robbery on a couple shots but mostly the shots we allowed were pretty low danger. I have no doubt that Schmid can come up with some crazy saves when needed, but playing solid D isn’t optional. Give your goalie the best chance to succeed!
