  1. Ok so.

We DFA’d Motter. Then re-signed him.

    This made no sense.

Now we have DFA’d him again, confirming that it made no sense.

    Help me.

  2. Fuck John Mozeliak. First he was publicly calling out Fowler and now he’s basically calling out Contreras ability to catch. His only free agent addition.

Idk sounds like Mozeliak has no idea what the fuck he’s doing

  3. Yes the fans were clamoring for changes but not stupid ones that involved throwing people under the bus to protect your own ass Mo

  4. Oliver Marmol is way out of his wheelhouse. He needs to find a career that fits his skill set, it’s definitely NOT managing a baseball team.

  6. Takeaways from going to last night’s game

Not the best sized crowd for a Friday I’ve ever seen, still very loud last night. Lost my voice as I drank some Buds, having access to the bar underneath the seats on the third base was cool AF, IDK if everyone knew this or not- but as the place was rocking from Noot’s double, some kid no older than 8 ran on the field and almost made an escape after jumping by back over to the seats but got dragged back over and walked out. Still a ton of fun, even tho it was another frustrating loss.

  7. Okie dokie!

So why don’t they just name Herrera the starter, Kniz the sturdy backup, and Willson the DH?

  8. Our pitching staff is doing their best Kip Wells impressions this season

  9. If they move the guy they signed to be the every day (AT LEAST 130 games a year) catcher out of catcher a month into the season in favor of two guys who wouldn’t make the roster on 29 other major league teams, I’m not even sure what to say anymore. This franchise has completely lost their collective minds.
Edit: oh, and this was in year ONE, out of a five year deal. W….T….F?????

  10. Glad for Kniz. He’s played second fiddle for several years. Hope he makes the best of it. Absolutely bewildered by what our front office is doing though. It’s insane. Sign a good catcher, pay the man, watch him struggle behind the plate, move him to DH/OF after a month. Saw someone on Twitter say “it’s like shuffling deck chairs on the titanic” lol

  11. Yadi was the glue that held the organization together. I never in my right mind thought his impact was this big. I was wrong. He was everything.

  12. To the fans that are saying Mo is in denial about the pitching staff, this is pretty obviously a change they’re making after asking the pitchers what they can do to help them and they all said they prefer to pitch to Knizner. They wouldn’t just put Contreras at DH without consulting the pitching staff first. This is more a Dusty Blake decision than a Mo decision.

Pretty obvious that all of the losing has the clubhouse turning on each other currently. I think the chemistry of this team is super messed up right now. I would not want to be in that clubhouse

  13. So they option Jordan Walker, after hyping him up, so they could re-sign recently cut Taylor Motter, and now, to bring up a 3rd catcher, they DFA Taylor Motter.

  14. My expectations of this line-up today:

    **Nootbaar:** Will Noot
    **Goldy:** Golden God, 5-Star Man
**Willson:** Will Smash, Won’t let us down
**Arenado:** Is going to hit the ball so hard it explodes
    **Burleson:** All Ground-Rule Doubles Today
    **DeJong:** Slut
**Donovan**: Plays 2B armed with a glove on each hand
**Carlson:** Will make all of you apologize
**Knizner:** Hits for the Cycle, catches 0 people stealing

**Waino:** Unveils his new Orbit Curve, no Tiger gets on base

  15. I haven’t been this confused and frustrated by this team since the 90s

  16. Things I never thought I’d say…..The Cubs out foxed us on Contreras

  17. Can’t Donovan play RF? Why don’t we have Contreras DH and then have Gorman play 2B

  18. So I work in management. It’s at a large industrial paper manufacturer so the parallels aren’t great but still.

I know it’s not ALL Oli’s fault at the end of the day I really think he lost the trust/faith of the clubhouse with the TON shit early season.

Now you’ve got a guy, not far removed from a “failed” professional career as a player, who based upon Montgomery’s comments from last night, just does not have the buy-in of his team. I know firsthand how it is to try and tell people “how to do their job” when you couldn’t do their job and it just doesn’t go over well.

Anyway. I don’t know where I was going with this so I’m going to get off my soapbox and resume drinking.

  19. i think knizner has deeply compromising photos of someone who signs the checks.

  20. I’m like 110% percent certain it’s an honest stumbling over words and not a Brennaman situation, but holy shit what an unfortunate misspeak

  21. [Tigers](/r/MotorCityKitties) Due Up **(Top 1):**

    1. Zach McKinstry
    2. Riley Greene
    3. Javier Baez

  22. Gorman’s back is sore because they play Twister in the clubhouse after the games to cool down and it got a little intense.

  23. Can someone eli5 the Motter situation from the point of view of his contract(s)? I’m dense.

  24. I have (choose) to imagine this is Oli’s last shot. It seems like a last-ditch effort to get the pitching staff going. But, I don’t think a familiar catcher will change things

  25. motter dfa’d again? it’s almost like he shouldn’t of came back a second time. ffs

  26. My question is… why are we not getting Contreras as many reps behind the plate as possible? We’re a trash team what difference does it make. We can’t give up on this guys primary position a month into his deal. Absolute nonsense

  27. In better news… I am getting caught up on Barry.

    >!Hank, my sweet Hank. My heart breaks for you.!<

  28. Its legitimately just like if we didn’t have a DH. Knizner in the 9 hole is actually worse than just letting Wainwright bat.

  29. Giving up on Contreras behind the plate 1 month into a 5 year contract is ridiculous

  30. I, 4-1, am tired of seeing the name Andrew Knizner in the lineup everyday. Sure, he hit a HR last night, but someone batting .156 does not need to be playing every day.
