  1. Dud from the offense. 2022 vibes. Sucks we blew the lead late but we had plenty of opportunities to score after the first and didn’t.

Silver lining: Drew looked pretty good

  2. Well it is what it is, now we gotta just destroy Cole’s era tomorrow.

  3. #At least we aren’t in last place like some kind of poverty franchise lmao

  4. It’s time to fire Cash. The Yankees are now 1000 games ahead of us. I can’t believe he would let this happen. And to think some of you defend him.

  5. Extremely frustrating loss. But these things happen in baseball. As long as we win tomorrow this will game will be a wash

Also why are we ALWAYS league leaders in caught stealing?

  6. I know it’s not this simple, but I keep thinking about how if Bradley was allowed to stay with the big club as he adjusts to a 5 day schedule, we’d have fewer bullpen days and, in theory, more relievers available in a game like today’s.

Feels like we didn’t see Anderson today because they’re saving him to take over for Fleming in tomorrow’s game

  7. Ah darn, that’s a game they should be winning. Especially with the aggressive running, feels like the Rays lost this.

  8. On one hand, that was the worst this offense has looked, and it’s carried over from yesterday (got home runs and took advantage of errors, but no real knocks with RISP). Doesn’t give me a ton of confidence coming into a rubber match with Cole on the mound.

On the other, offense isn’t going to be scoring every game, so the bullpen needs to be able to hold it down. This year, I’m far more willing to give the O the benefit of the doubt, but our bullpen suuuucks. Idk how they have the lowest reliever ERA or if that’s hard-carried by Adam and Fairbanks. When the offense is off, they get exposed.

Also PLEASE be better on the basepaths. We lost one or two runs doing dumb things. Stop letting the Yankees live rent-free in your head and just go win.

  9. Bleh. Winnable game but the offense died and bullpen completely shit the bed again. Also something is definitely off with Brandon Lowe… again. He should not be starting. Oh well. See ya all tomorrow.

  10. A lot of missed opportunities, 1/12 with RISP, we are clearly the better team and I’m not worried, these days are going to happen. Just gotta move on and win the series tomorrow.

  11. You can’t win ’em all, and at least we kept the pressure on them with that Josh Lowe double

  12. Gonna need to win series against tough teams eventually. Took advantage of an easier April schedule, but eventually you have to beat the New yorks, the houstons, the torontos etc. Hopefully that day is tomorrow, but probably our worse pitching match up of the series.

  13. The aggressive baserunning has helped us win a lot this year, but this game it cost us. Two killer outs that snuffed out scoring chances that we really needed cuz we all knew the pen can’t be trusted in a close game. But honestly besides Wander’s steal attempt I don’t have much issue with it, like I said the baserunning has helped us a lot more than it’s hurt us.

What is worrying is B Lowe. He looks kind of bad and you have to wonder if his back issues are creeping up

  14. Bullpen looks suspect again but we at least need Fairbanks back. Having the 8th and 9th locked down goes a long way

  15. Beeks actually looked pretty decent, so of course Kelly had to be absolute fucking garbage today.

  16. Don’t understand the decision to pinch hit Paredes over Bethancourt. Bethancourt has been hitting better than Paredes recently.

  17. Hard to be critical of the Rays, they’ve been so good. BLowe has to be better. His failure to turn 2 easy DPs affected Ras staying in the game, which in turn, led to the BP pitching more innings. BLowe is also in one of his bad streaks offensively. He killed the momentum in the 8th hitting into a DP.

  18. Our bullpen and shitty baserunning lost us that game more than the Yankees won it, but fuck them eternally nonetheless

  19. And it’s a bullpen game tomorrow…. yay…..

Seriously though, why is Bradley STILL in Durham? Does Cash just want to keep him there indefinitely? He’s been so good!

  20. That was definitely a winnable game, just fell back on our 2022 tendencies: Lackluster offense, questionable defense, awful base running, etc.

  21. I think if you look at this team right now its clear we need one or two elite bullpen pieces ASAP. And I think as a fanbase we should mentally prepare ourselves for the fact that we’re gonna have to part with a prospect or someone legit to get those pieces. I just don’t see any point in waiting for the deadline to find that piece instead of moving now and winning more games.

  22. Why did they pitch to bader with open base and hicks up next plus the base running twice if I didn’t know better I’d think rays threw this game

  23. Sometimes I feel like Jalen Beeks is intentionally trying to sabotage the Rays

  24. Not a Rays fan but damn the Stingray memes make me laugh when the randomly pop up because I follow so many teams reddits

  25. It was the rain outside today, made the water too cold. I thought we were about to pull it off with the lead off bunt or with the lead off Randy Rip but such was our night. Win some lose some. We flap tomorrow!

  26. Title should read “Yankees had everything work out just right to pull one over on the best team in MLB”

  27. I worry about B. Lowe. He seems go deep into these slumps, deeper than other players that can bounce back quicker. Hope we can get him back in form soon.
