How can a team that’s ranked 20th in driving to the basket lead the league in FTs?

  2. The Lakers are 6th in points in the paint this season. They’re 4th in the league in restricted area FGA, 7th in post-ups per game, and 6th in post-touches overall. They’re clearly a physical, paint-centric scoring offense.

    The differential also comes mostly from the fact that the Lakers are a very disciplined defensive team. They’re ranked 1st in the league in fewest fouls committed per 100 possessions.

  3. For a serious answer, it’s because they don’t drive the ball a a lot. An AD post up starting at the Ft line elbow does not count as a drive. A Lebron post up from the 10 feet out does not count as a drive. Their points in the paint stat is more correlated to their free throw attempts

  4. Just stumbled onto this sub. Is the consensus really that the NBA is rigging games for the lakers to beat the warriors ?

  5. Everytime the Lakers layup like AD, Schroder, or Vanderbilt – they always fall and act fouled
