  1. If the pitching is good then the offense sucks. If the offense is good then the pitching sucks. Nothing at all is clicking for this team right now and watching this team is mentally draining right now

  2. Absolute vibes destruction over the last two weeks

    what the fuck happened lmfao

  3. Our offense just isn’t good enough either. It’s been since second half last year into this year. The fact that guys like nido and Esco were allowed to play prominent roles on this team speaks volumes

Commit to the youth movement full time.

Bring Vientos up here. I know people love vogey and he had a home run today (and a huge mental mistake)…. But he has like 8 home runs in about 260 at bats for the mets so far. We need more power out of the DH spot.

  4. This team blows no I’m not being a doomer it’s the reality of the situation. Stop calling people fake fans for saying how the team is actually playing

  5. The Mets gave Francisco Lindor $341,000,000.

He has an OPS+ of 113 since signing that contract.

He’s only going to get worse as he ages.

Anyone arguing that this isn’t a bad contract and that he hasn’t been ultimately disappointing is living in denial.

I see I’m immediately being downvoted lol. He’s got the fifth-largest contract in MLB history. Go look at the others making similar money to him and see if he even remotely compares.

  6. Could be worse we could be the Bronx team and blow and 6-0 lead with Cole pitching and lose 8-7 in 10.

  7. I’ve never seen such a disgusting starting pitching staff. Has anyone gone 7 innings this year?

  8. I guess this is just what has to happen in order for changes to be made

  9. It sure would be nice if we had some pitching. You can’t survive your starters never going past 5 innings

  10. This team is bad and depressing to watch. Lifeless. What a turnaround from the 101-win season a year ago. Makes the decision whether to travel 3 hours next week to see my first game of the season easy. Nope! Rather save the money and do something else with my time.

  11. Can I guess that Diaz was the Heart & Soul of this team last year?

Diaz available to pitch? Mets did great! (until September, we’ll forget that)

Diaz is not available to pitch/out with season-ending injury before the season begins? Team felt off from the start

  12. Pete Alonso Last 14 games: .179/.238/.308 1 HR, 6 RBI

Even when we’re hitting, he’s not.

  13. Something major needs to change now. Coaching, bullpen, offense.. this is just getting ridiculous

  14. The most exciting thing going for this half a billion dollar team is the 3B prospect we called up. Speaks volumes for how well the front office has handled free agents.

  15. Our starters regressing so badly is a huge part of the problem. Still, however, again like yesterday and in recent series, it’s a total team failure. Mets bats finally wake up a little, but on a day where the pitching shits itself horrendously. Just inexcusable and a waste of time.

What infuriates me is that we look lifeless and passionless compared to last year. Last year’s team showed fight, but this year, we look like we’re going through the motions.

  16. i did expect to lose today but i also think this is rock bottom so i’m not really that upset

  17. This team fucking sucks. All of it. Swept by the Tigers, lose embarrassingly to the Rockies. Total shit baseball.

  18. Reds down 11-1 to White Sox in third. No doubt we’ll score 5 runs in 3 games.

  19. I bet no current doomer saw a September slump in May’22, we were winning the World Series no matter what

  20. Last year the Braves started 16-19, Phillies 17-18, Mariners 16-19, Guardians 16-19, and Blue Jays 18-17. All of them made the playoffs. Starting the year 17-18 is not a death sentence for the season and it’s foolish to write the season off so early into the year.

Lineup will be fine. Alvarez Alonso McNeil Lindor Baty Canha Nimmo Marte Vogey is on paper a top 5 offense in baseball. Eventually they will wake up. They have basically the same amount of runs after 35 games that they did last year.

Starting pitching I’m concerned about. We only have 4 starters(JV Max Senga Megill) and in case it wasn’t obvious, that’s not good enough. I’d bring Peterson back up and give him another chance. I know he had a shit start but he’s the only guy I believe is capable of pitching like a 5th starter until Quintana comes back. Carrasco is done, Lucchesi is depth and nothing else, and Butto isn’t MLB caliber yet.

Bullpen isn’t great but also isn’t the problem. Going into tonight they were 9th in all of baseball in bullpen ERA which is pretty good. They do have a guy Grant Hartwig in the minors who I would call up to see if he can be another reliable bullpen arm.

  21. We spend all this money and we’re struggling bad. We all feeling it from Steve to the coaches to the players and us the fan base. We below .500 and we a couple games out the wild card. Only may. We been through worse. We all are frustrated and hope we can inch our way back game by game. Until postseason

  22. Alarm bells need to be ringing throughout the organization. I agree, there’s a lack of fire and intensity on this team. I sense no magic or joy about them. Someone needs to lay the fuck into this team and wake them up. The media should rightfully be tearing them to shreds. This is really pathetic. I am sad about the losing sure, but I’m sincerely concerned about the lack of accountability.

  23. This team has some dark days ahead if this kind of payroll is getting swept and losing series to some really bad teams.

We have zero pitching depth in the minors either to help.

  24. The problem is the Mets offense is not built to score 6 or more runs a game. They were successful last year because the team pitched relatively well and Mets capitalized on offense when they needed to.

  25. Oldest staff in the Majors and a lineup who don’t hit home runs…. seriously how did anyone think this was gonna be a winning formula???! I’m so fuckin confused! I feel like I’m taking crazy pills here!

  26. You know, I keep seeing comments about the Yanks sucking and losing, who cares? We need the Braves to suck, not the Yanks

  27. Ya a noise needs to gtfo this roster right the fuck now . Wtf was that . 1 out 5 ER. Thank u

  28. The whole overblown Timmy Trumpet thing last season cast bad mojo over the Mets, and everything went south immediately after. There’s only one solution. Because they displayed poor sportsmanship and humiliated the Dodgers, they have to pay homage to the Dodgers somehow, like hosting a Brooklyn Dodgers Night or something. And they need to do it soon. The mojo must be reversed.

  29. honestly fucking speechless. fucking laughable. i don’t even know man

  30. “I’m not very good at math but we got a lot of games left.” – Vogelbach

  31. Buck and Eppler man. Ya a bonus coming into the 5th just shows you what both these clowns are about.

  32. The roster is constructed poorly. Our “young players” aka Baty and Alvarez seem to be just fine. While the big guns, essentially the old guys, look tired and broken. Starting pitching has just been BRUTAL, and the bullpen guys are overworked.

Cohen wants to win now, I get that, but they seriously need to rethink the strategy of buying every aging, overpriced FA. Look at how much money these guys are owed, and they’ve all been ineffective.

Can’t contend for a championship like this.
