The case for Tre Jones

3rd year stats, post All-Star break:
28.7 min / 13.3 pts / 3.6 reb / 7.7 ast / 1.3 stl / 1.2 TO / 54.5% FG / 38.5% 3P

1. Pesky defender that has a knack for being in the right place at the right time and forces turnovers.
2. Unselfish player with high game IQ.
3. Excellent passer with great vision, nice handles, and low turnover rate.
4. Quick in transition, which is one of Houston’s weaknesses.
5. Can attack the basket, finish at the rim, and draw contact.
6. Can hit the mid-range jumper.
7. Accurate free throw shooter (86% for season).
8. Struggles with 3-point shot (28.5% for season), but his FT% suggests this should improve, and he got hot late in the season.
9. Can affect the game on the ball or off the ball.
10. Just 23 years old, aligning with our young core.
11. Coached by Pop for 3 seasons.
12. Known for having a strong work ethic, and has improved in every area of his game each season.
13. A plus player on a 22-win team.
14. Houston wouldn’t have to give up any assets to get him, just overpay a bit. Worst case, the Spurs match and he eats into their cap space more than he would’ve otherwise.

  1. wouldn’t want to “overpay” him really, but if he came for the right price i’m all about it. this team shouldn’t be shelling out the big bucks for anyone who is a below average 3p shooter. I think you missed his 3p% by 10% too….go double check those stats

  2. If I remember correctly, he was inconsistent but that may have been from the spurs tanking. I’m going off what I’ve seen from fantasy.
