Joe Mazzulla on no timeout: “It’s something we talked about all year. I trust my guys to make the right play.” Still said with 14 seconds left you definitely want to get “as many chances as you can.” Said he would learn from that.

  1. how the hell does trusting your guys mean you cant call timeouts? only in his mind does it have to be that way. turns out you can trust your guys and call timeouts! total bs. my guess is he’s too inexperienced to coach them during crucial timeouts, so he pulls this shit

  2. He’s been doing the same thing all year and hasn’t “learned from it” yet. What makes me think he will now?

  3. Meanwhile every human being watching the game knew he should have called a TO there long before the game was out.

  4. I might be an outlier but I thought it was a good decision for him not to call a timeout. Philly’s defense were poorly organized on both of the plays and Smart ended up being open for both of them. The first one he missed and the second one it was late by .2 of a second. If a timeout was called Doc would have most likely get his defense organized and ready for the drive and kick.

  5. I trust them, too. I trust them to fail. They suck in those situations. They just do. I’m so sick of watching them look like idiots in the final 3 minutes of every close game.
