  1. i really don’t think there’s much to say valdez was literally just lights out today

  2. im blaming a loss on the fact mike trout played while shohei was pitching

  3. Ohtani had a quality start against a WS champs (with a brand new catcher) but Framber pitched better. Simple as that.

The bullpen got rested the last 2 days. Good stuff.

    Let’s do better tomorrow.

  4. Can’t believe Ohtani has the audacity to throw a quality start and give up 3 runs in 7 innings.

As that guy in the game thread said, “NOT OUR ACE”

  5. Well you needed a great pitching performance because the expectation was you’d only get 1 maybe 2 off Valdez tonight and you didn’t get it. Oh well. Move on to tomorrow. Win the series

  6. Tough one. Valdez threw a gem. Hitters could have done better sure, but have to give plenty of credit to Framber (as much as I hate to because of the team he plays for).

I said I’d be content (Not happy. Content.) if we go .500 in this homestretch against the teams from Texas, so let’s win tomorrow!

  7. The last at bat of the game perfectly encapsulates our season, hit hard but opponent made a great play

  8. Feels like lots of pressure on tomorrows game. We need a series win against against a top team. We haven’t looked great against above average teams

  9. Not bad overall. Astros got some breaks and capitalized. Sho was good. Valdez painted. We’ll get them tomorrow.

  10. framber laid his ding dong all over us today friends

accept it. embrace it. move on. and we take the series tomorrow

  11. Framber and Presley were lights out. Lots of unhittable spots. On to tomorrow

  12. # Angels Abbreviated – 2023.05.09

    – Giga Chad Wallach unfortunately went on the IL, meaning that ex-Reds catcher Chris Okey had to step in to catch Ohtani
    – Ohtani got 7 outs in 2 innings thanks to a dropped third strike by Okey
    – He was fighting for his life out there
    – Angels and A’s legend Reggie Jackson (Mr. October himself!), now a special advisor to the Astros, stopped by the booth…
    – Just in time to see Zach Neto (who also wears #9) hit his first career home run!
    – Okey caught Jeremy Pena stealing!
    – Shohei Ohtani officially exceeded Babe Ruth’s total career strikeouts for a two-way player
    – Martin “Benedict Arnold” Maldonado betrayed his old friend Shohei by hitter a 2-run homer
    – Angels go down 1-2-3 in the 9th at the hands of Ryan Pressley

We get a save, they get save. Onto the next.

  13. I did not enjoy this game. Kudos to Valdez, that guy is filthy. Hope we bounce back tomorrow.

  14. That loss is on me. After someone posted something on his nasty pitches I said “good luck with that filth”. They immediately scored and the rest is history. Send your downvotes here.

  15. Mariners, Rangers, and Astros all have better pitching than we do. Thats going to be a problem
