Autographs on Ebay Listing look real or fake?

I came across this ebay listing and am wondering if it looks legitimate or fishy. I’m new to purchasing autographed items. I compared the 4 signatures I care about (Stamkos, Hedman, Lecavalier, and St Louis) to other images of those guys’ autographs online and they all look similar enough to be real except for Hedman, which looks different. Could be from a younger Hedman, signed with gloves (the seller says he got the signatures at different practices), or could be forged. The price seems low but there are other mini helmets from known autograph sellers like JSA that are around $70 signed by Hedman or Stamkos alone, so maybe the price isn’t outrageously low.

Are there any warning signs here that I’m missing or things I should ask the seller? Thanks!

  1. If you are *at all* uncertain, don’t buy. That uncertainty will resurface every time you look at the memorabilia. And what fun is that?

  2. If you live in Tampa, the signatures are easy enough to get for free. I learned my lesson getting stuff like that from eBay. I’d even rather go through the team shop or getting their auction stuff, at least then you have no worries.

If you didn’t see them sign it, or get it from an official source, assume it’s fake.

  3. I believe you can pay Beckett to look at a listing and give an initial thought on authenticity. They look good from here (maybe too good) , but honestly you really want to stick with certified autos, witnessed by PSA/Beckett/JSA. If not witnessed, verified is acceptable by one of the big names.

I’ll disagree with one of the comments that getting autos from the Bolts is easy. Pre covid and when they were bad? Absolutely easy. Now it is definitely a little more challenging.

  4. The Stamkos and Vinny ones look legit. The Hedman one is weird compared to the ones I’ve seen.
