  1. Maybe he can be a player coach and we can get some semi-reliable three point shooting.

  2. Hiring one of the best shooters of all time to coach a team that doesn’t have any shooters is a 6D type move. Gonna turn Siakam into prime korver

  3. Maybe as an assistant, shooting coach?

Just don’t hire a head coach with zero coaching experience please

  4. Damn Grange must have gotten 10 grand from woj for the full story

  5. Masai: ok tha’s the end of the interview. Do you have any questions?

JJ: if I do get the job, are you going to get more 3pt shooters?

Masai: well, you see we’re all about wingspan here and you can always teach them to shoot right?

    *JJ ends the zoom call*

  6. To his Defense Steve Kerr wasn’t a coach before he got hired by the warriors.

  7. This doesn’t make sense. I don’t follow nba player podcasts as they’re usually shit but has JJ talked about wanting to coach? Between his show and ESPN stuff, he probably makes more money than he would coaching right?

  8. Y’all stressing.. Masai always does this. They interview all types of candidates to see their approach, their mindset. No way in hell is JJ going to be in actual contention to be the HC.

He’s just a big name.. which is why woj tweeted about it

  9. Definitely I’m in favour of a wide-ranging coaching search. I think a good front office approaches a coaching search like they should approach drafting: it’s not just about finding ‘your guy’ (or gal), it’s about using it as an opportunity to gain as much insight as possible. How smart is Redick when he’s not pandering to a youtube audience? Is he a guy that’s legitimately on an NBA coaching (head or assistant) path? Does he have some interesting insights into the team?

I mean, I’d be shocked if we actually hired him as a head coach… hell, I’d be shocked if he even earned a follow-up interview. But talking to as many knowledgeable basketball people as possible is a good use of this process.

  10. JJ gonna come out of retirement 10 games into the season when he sees how awful the 3 point shooting is on the Raps lol

  11. This is probably a practice interview for JJ. I cannot see him taking a job in Toronto when there are much better openings elsewhere.

  12. The fact that we are even considering this is ridiculous. The fall off is crazy

  13. Gotta improve our 3 point shooting somehow… Might as well start from the top with the HC first lol

  14. We’re really interviewing 1000 people just to promote Adrian Griffin, huh?

  15. I actually think jj would be a good coach. From his podcast he seems to know his stuff and has a good relationship with the players

  16. If he’s hired, we’ll see how he does. He seems to be a likeable guy and players seem to respect him. Don’t know his x’s and o’s but Steve Kerr flourished as a first time coach so I’m hopeful. I’d give him a chance. It’s a rebuilding year next year anyway.

  17. So, if Grange was right about this, was he also correct that Casey wants to be the coach? Lmao if this is true

  18. I’d like an interview please. I’ve watched lots of games. My rider is that I require beer and steak at interviews

  19. At least the FO are keeping an open mind about who they want as the coach. You gotta evaluate a wide range of options to figure what they want. As long as they get the right person they could interview season ticket holders for all I care.
