Impulse Tattoo

I didn’t catch the last game and I probably won’t watch anymore this playoffs. I unexpectedly lost my brother yesterday. After leaving the hospital I decided to just go grab this as a distraction to remind me of things I enjoy. I had been thinking about a VGK tattoo for about a year since I lost my best friend and our final memory was going to a game at T-Mobile. He had never felt comfortable with sports as a gay man but the pride nights changed a lot for him and by the end he was sporting VGK stickers on his car.

My wife and I got into the Knights when we went down there a few months after 10/1. I hadn’t heard of them, wasn’t any kind of sports fan, but asked the Uber driver what the helmets were all about. She started crying, told us about some friends she lost and how much she and everyone else loved the Knights because it rallied the city together after the tragedy. It’s definitely taken on a much bigger meaning than just a sports franchise.

There’s a lot of adversity out there for a lot of us. I appreciate this community and all of you. This is a great fanbase with some great people. If anyone in your life is struggling with a substance abuse or opioids you should call them today and let them know you love them. You’ll want that memory.

  1. I still have a standing challenge to the universe that WHEN the knights win the cup, I’m getting a VGK tattoo on my head. 6 years I have held strong, soon now…

    Respect

  2. I’m so sorry for the loss of your friend and your brother. May their memories be a blessing.

    The ink is GORGEOUS.
