“The Cardinal Way needs a GPS”

That’s the opening sentence from [Jesse Rogers at ESPN](https://www.espn.com/mlb/story/_/id/37615125/st-louis-cardinals-last-place-national-league-willson-contreras). Not Bleacher Report. Not Slate. Not anybody else, per the portion of online junior GMs still firmly in Mo’s back pocket.

I think it’s even more true now with the report that last week’s panic move of Contreras, per news today, has had a Newtonian equal and opposite reaction that he’s moving back to catcher Monday.

Yes, the team may be playing below Pythag. Yes, it may partially address the record in one-run losses.

Or it may not. The below Pythag may be on Marmol. The one-run record? May take a while still for that ball to bounce the other way.

Meanwhile, the huzzahs of the Cards now having a 1-in-4 shot at the postseason? Listen to yourselves, if that’s got you really that excited. Finally, no, this isn’t the same as 2006.
