Man, the Union get in a fight last night to the Rapids and the Phils get in a fight today with the Rockies. Those Colorado sports teams suffering from oxygen deprivation up there /s
Really want to see a Jake Bird / Bryce Harper at bat now We do not play the Rockies again this year – but maybe next year!
I doubt it cost them the game and if anything will fire up the clubhouse v San Fran
I’m going with one of those stupid kids Harper trolled in the stands last night was somehow related to Bird.
Only thing he did wrong was not flipping the bird to bird.

Ruben may have had his first funny comment in regards to Bird after this debacle. I’m paraphrasing, but it was something along the lines of, “he’s talking a lot of smack considering his mediocre pitching performance” lol
Ok so if Harper is the unofficial team captain, who is the unofficial enforcer?
While it’s not like the game was totally lost at the moment, the lack of hitting with RISP, the getaway day with the series already in hand and the general incompetence by the umps definitely made it seem like it was bound to be one of those days.
Just like Topper kept Schwarber in the game by taking the heat on the terrible strike three call, I think Harper read the moment right and got everyone fired up when it seemed like most were already halfway to SF. Maybe it doesn’t win today’s game, but when your leader and best player is ready to go to the mat in a mostly lost cause of a game, that tends to rub off and trickle down.
Bryce is the dude Philly wants all its superstars to be.
