6.13

6.13 is his average yards per carry. WTF. That’s insane. Couple that with 44 catches for an average of a first down each and we are cooking with blue flames.

Oh yeah!

  1. When I saw Jamo at Alabama, it was clear as day he was one of, if not the best player on the field.

I felt the same way when I saw Gibbs at Bama.

  2. The SEC West is definitely more diverse than it used to be regarding skill, but remember to try and take the Bama stats with a grain of salt. They have the equivalent to a pro all-star team every. single. year; five star recruit dept only challenged by maybe 3-4 other programs in the country. This includes O-line, QB and other skill position threats on top of arguably the best CFB coach in history. I’m not doubting Gibbs’ skill and am honestly super excited about the pick, but it’s easy to make playing football look easy in Tuscaloosa.

  3. So let’s say he winds up with 460 rushing and 222 receiving with 5 TDs, is that a good rookie year? I think he will eventually be great, but gotta temper my expectations for a rookie.

  4. Gibbs has literally everything you look for in a running back besides height and weight. Speed, quickness, burst, balance, vision, and instincts, and he runs with high awareness, patience, and tempo. The game looks slowed down for him out there, he has an uncanny ability to see holes develop, and he’s crazy good at setting up defenders around blockers.

Given his size, he’s also a surprisingly adept blocker – he won’t level anyone on the blitz, but he knows how to use angles and leverage to knock them off course and keep them from getting sacks, and can step up in the hole on guys bigger than him and slow them down enough to prevent immediate pressure.

Injuries will always be a concern for any running back, but whole he’s on the field he’ll be something special.

  5. 6.13 is not insane for a top running back in college.

Several guys average over 7.0 each season.

Gibbs ranked 31st in y/c last year and would have ranked 35th the year before.
