A starter with an expected ERA of 6.96 and a reliever with an expected ERA of 5.11 gave up only 3 runs in 7.2 innings to this team. Davidson left with an injury. Mike Trout is one of the worst hitters in baseball this month. The team looked sleepy offensively in general. Silseth predictably struggled after 60 pitches. Man that was pathetic.
Ah yes, the tried and true strategy of winning the first game of the series and laying an egg afterwards. Angels baseball 2023.
I’m glad Silseth looked way better than last year (knock on wood). He got VERY unlucky with some of the balls they got in for a hit. I just hope Trout gets hot soon, we really can’t let Texas/Houston pull away
Dammit but I really hate the last few years of getting above 500 by a few games then the drop and dance around that number until the end of the season

I don’t feel too horrible about this one only because if you had to pick one of the 4 that we would lose, it would be the game with the guy starting for the first time this year, just added to the rotation. Trouts hitting is concerning though. Surely it’ll come around eventually. We’ll get em tomorrow
Just one of those games. We were hitting rockets all night and they had a double off a grounder that hit our pitchers leg. Trout hasn’t looked himself but the last couple games have been promising. Orioles are a fun team to watch. Let’s get them tomorrow!
Hopefully Tucker is okay. It was so obvious that things would crumble after he hit Frazier.
Silseth continues to suffers from the Angels disorder of not having command and not throwing any competitive two-strike pitches. Hopefully he fixes that regardless of the role he stays in. His stuff plays as long as he’s commanding.
Need to split the series at all costs or else we’re going home under .500. Team is slipping and falling behind further and further and are running out of time.

The orioles are really good and I had no illusions of sweeping them.
We’ve got 12 quality starts (below league avg.) good for 29% through 43(?) games. That is not great. I don’t think we can afford to keep Wise if we’re serious about winning.. Really hope Perry would make moves with coaches as much as he’s doing with the team (i.e: Fletcher/Tepera DFA’d). If you’re bold with player movement, may as well be with coaching staff as well.
Ok on the positive side we only needed 8 innings out of our pitchers so they’ll be fresher tomorrow!
