Tempe is a way more convenient location. Halfway between the East and west valley
Yeah let’s build a sports stadium in a high rent/ mortgage area to bump those prices up even more.

Firstly, the excuse about the lack of interest was that no one wants to travel to the West Valley. Now, Tempe residents from the East Valley are not interested. Truth is, if they were a winning team and not the laughing stock of the NHL world, the team would not have had to move.
