  1. imagine watching yesterday’s game and consciously putting this lineup together

  2. * The 2023 Mets are 21-23 in the regular season. The Mets have scored 187 runs and allowed 204 runs. The Mets have played in 9,692 regular season games with 4,673 wins, 5,011 losses and eight ties. The Mets were 101-61 in 2022. The Mets are 198-87 on Thursdays since 2012, 4-4 this season.

    * The Mets are 4-4 in interleague play this year, 239-231 in interleague all time. The Mets are 15-17 against the Tampa Bay Rays. The Mets will play 42 interleague games this season.

    * The Mets have 26 hit by pitch, Tampa Bay leads the majors with 28. Oakland is second with 27 hit by pitch. The Mets have only 14 errors this season, second fewest in the majors ahead of San Diego with 11. Tampa Bay has only 15 errors, tied with Houston and Arizona. The Angels lead the majors with 31 errors.

    * The Mets have 451 walk-off wins and 487 walk-off losses, the Mets had five walk-off wins in 2022. The last walk-off loss was against Milwaukee on April 5th.

    * The Mets are 567-532 at Citi Field. The Mets are 8-9 at home and 13-14 on the road this season. The Mets will play this series against Tampa Bay and a three game series against the Cleveland Guardians. The Mets then travel to Chicago and Colorado next week.

    * Lucas Duda is the Mets franchise leader with 71 homers at Citi Field followed by Pete Alonso with 69 homers and Michael Conforto with 66 homers. David Wright had 49 homers, Brandon Nimmo has 28 homers, Francisco Lindor and Jeff McNeil has 26 homers at Citi Field.

    * Pete Alonso has 161 homers for the Mets. Alonso is the first Met ever with multiple seasons of 40 or more home runs. Alonso is fifth in franchise history ahead of Dave Kingman who had 154 homers. Darryl Strawberry hit 252 homers followed by David Wright who hit 242 homers for the Mets, Mike Piazza who had 220 homers and Howard Johnson who had 192 homers. Of course Alonso would have had more homers if the 2020 season was not limited to 60 games.

    * Francisco Lindor has a four game hit streak. Michael Perez has a three game hit streak.

    * Carlos Carrasco is in line to pitch against his old team, the Guardians, tomorrow night. Max Scherzer will pitch Saturday followed by Justin Verlander on Sunday Night Baseball. Saturday’s game will be on PIX. There will be an off-day on Monday.

  3. Why is Buck so obsessed with this dumbass “earn your spot” mentality? Just because Escobar/Vogey/Pham are more veteran they get the spot against a kid who themselves just got called up for AAA????

I haven’t really joined the horde saying he’s lost his mind yet, but I swear if we lose today and the above 3 fuck up and collectively contribute shit to the game I’m really hoping someone in Eppler’s world asks Buck what the fuck these lineup constructions are.

  4. Buck last night: “your reward for doing it well is the chance to do it again tomorrow”

Buck today: “Vogelbach is a good option, Vientos will sit”

  5. I swear time turns to slow motion speed the last 30-40 minutes before first pitch.

  6. Yikes. 6 thru 9 is laughably bad. Our 6 hitter is at the Mendoza line, our vaunted DH is batting 7th, the 2B lost his job to a rookie and the 9 hitter is a career .175 hitter.

  7. I’m done with Buck. Play the fxcking kids. He insists on being cute and I’m so fxcking done with him.

Edit: you can downvote it if you want. You’re fucking wrong.

  8. Vogelbach has gotta go. If he’s gonna block the kids he’s gotta go. Always knew this was gonna happen. He just isn’t a good fit on this team, or probably any contending team really.

  9. whats up w our fans taking a personal attack on our own players for being in the line up???

nido starts over alvarez? oh nido is a piece of shit who sucks and shouldnt be on the team

vogelbach over vientos at dh? wow dude will probablt eat his way on the base path what a fat stupid loser

do u guys think dudes will say no to buck like “my time has passed let the kids play”

    stop being jerks

  10. Rather unfortunate that both Escobar *and* Pham are in there against the righty.

  11. Game hasn’t even started yet and I see we’re in full bitch and complain mode.

Gonna be a fun day in here huh?

  12. Day games when almost no one else is in the office might be one of my favorite things

  13. This lineup is a joke today and buck deserves all the criticism in the world for it – Mets have a chance to take a series from the best team in baseball and finally get on track and he runs out the same losers who have sucked all season – huge fucking UGH

  14. Vientos hits a HR who gives a fuck . Day game after night game I respect the Alvarez decision.

How in the World is Vientos not on the lineup?

  15. Todays gonna be Perez’ last game up here unless he has another 4-4 day lol. Sanchez gonna be up tomorrow or he opts out

  16. we need to go hard on a white sox fire sale if it comes. bring me joe kelly at least.

  17. You have to find the right balance between playing to win and developing the young players. Fortunately it all lines up for us the young guys give us the best chance to win. Everyone seems to understand that except Buck.

  18. Y’all just don’t understand the Marky Mark going to hit a PH GS walk-off.

    Buck playing 6D Chinese backgammon

  19. I so rarely care about the lineup decisions but…one of Vientos/Alvarez absolutely needed to be the DH today after last night.

  20. We have a chance for last night to be a turning point of the season….

    And Buck punts

  21. If the rays are the best team in baseball and we take the series, that means we are the best team in baseball.
    Check the math.
