[Matheson] Mitch White felt some shoulder fatigue in his outing yesterday in AAA, so he’s in Toronto to be checked out by the #BlueJays staff. Toronto’s rotation depth beyond the five MLB starters remains very thin.

  1. Really would like a designated long reliever in the pen. Was hoping White could be that for us this season but his Triple A stats aren’t exactly inspiring…

  2. Considering his lack of options and >5 ERA in rehab the ghoulish doomer in me wants to make a “right arm shittiness” joke here

  3. Does anyone really have good rotation depth beyond starter number 5? Most teams don’t have great depth beyond number 3

  4. White doesn’t really look like quality depth at this point, so if he ends up going back on the IL, it might be better for everyone involved. I’ve liked Schneider’s approach of letting the current five starters go at least close to 100 pitches even in games where they’ve given up several runs early on, since it keeps the bullpen from getting overworked. At this point, the only concern would be an injury to one of the starters before Ryu comes back later this season.

Hasn’t this been the case for like 5+ years now?

  6. “so why are you entering the country sir?”

    “fucking doctors in America suck!”

  7. We are in all kinds of trouble if any starter (especially one not named Manoah) has to miss any sort of significant time.

  8. Dood knows he’s DFA trajectory and trying to soak up that paycheck
