How would we feel about this? Is this even realistic or am I overvaluing/undervaluing certain players?

  1. This is just… a complete downgrade in all regards. What the hell is this deal for? How do we get better in any way? Why are we giving up first round picks for… Nurkic and Kelly Olynyk? This trade is straight up egregious. I’m actually astounded.

  2. More in depth thoughts:

Blazers: Blazers are most likely trading Anfernee away so their gonna need someone to talk his place (IQ). Nurkic would be huge on this team due to his ability to actually play offense and while there would be a drop off defensively and rebounding wise I think the better offense makes up for it. As for the the Blazers I actually think Mitch would work very well for them since their more of a shooting team.

Spurs: with getting Wemby idk if they accept this but any tanking team would work fine here just whichever one is still planning to tank next year. We need to trade Fournier to open up cap space for Donte.

Jazz: Jazz will probably spend at least one more year not seriously competing. They should be willing to give up Olynyk for Obi and a first. Olynyk would take over Obis role on this team however he would hopefully get a lil more playing time.

Hart singing: should be pretty obvious why we should resign him. He’s a dawg.

D Rose signing: good vet presence I think he likes it here. Not the end of the world if this doesn’t go through but just think he’s a nice presence to have.

Donte signing: Need someone to take IQs min and I think Donte is prob the best FA available that we can afford.

  3. this trade is horrible i’d trade for Simons tho he’d be a perfect fit for us

  4. u/nofapbbby need a smart Knicks fans to tell me if I’m completely wrong here

  5. I really do not see any upside in this trade. I guess you can argue Nurkic is a slight upgrade over Mitch due to his 3pt shooting? He is a career-percentage of 29% which is not exactly great and we would lose Mitch’s extremely valuable offensive rebounds and defense, so that’s at least questionable.

I agree that Olynyk is the better player than Toppin but dude is 32 already. I would much rather just sign someone like Jae Crowder in the offseason. No way he is worth Obi + a first rounder.

And what is the Spurs part in all this? We are giving them a top 10 protected first rounder just to get rid of Foruniers contract which is an expiring?? I get that he provides not much value anymore but you dont have to attach such valuable draft picks to get rid of expirings. There will be teams with free cap space who wont might taking him, looking at the Jazz or the Magic here.

Only part I like is the DiVincenzo signing.
