  7. League absolutely cooked the refs in a few games with the FT differential. However if Poole and Klay showed up and hit shots like Murray it wouldn’t even be a question. The Dubs would have buried the Lakers.

  8. Incredibly dumb post. There’s no grand conspiracy against the team with the biggest fanbase & most watchable star in the NBA.

    This dude just didn’t watch or understand the games. Do the Lakers go for bullshit fouls all the time? Of course, that’s an annoying part of their team identity but it works for every team that tries it, regardless of market size (Sixers & Heat are known for this as well, and it works like a charm).

    But that’s where it begins and ends, and maybe accounts for ~5 FT per game. The rest of it is that the motion offense is designed to create layups and easy attempts at the rim that are uncontested, and we use small lineups to create that motion. The lakers love isoball, and draw plenty of fouls in the midrange by getting size mismatches on us. They’ve got much more size in the paint, too, which is why AD was able to get to the line so much. That was always going to be a part of this–we *have* to draw fouls, because the alternative is giving up easy buckets.

    Anyway, y’all can be ~~stupid~~ conspiratorial if you want. This series was winnable, and us getting into foul trouble early in quarters fucked us, hard. Occam’s razor would indicate that that was due to very visible on-court factors, though, rather than some grand 9-dimensional conspiracy by the refs. Lakers are a frustrating team to watch, and we can accept that while also not devolving into saying stupid shit.

  11. If you haven’t seen it go watch the Netflix Untold documentary “Operation flagrant foul” basically reveals NBA has a sort of agenda to squeeze as much revenue as possible. The FBI was going through a secret investigation, but of course David Stern and his team did all they can to make it not happen and the escape goat was tim donaghy.

  16. This is the dumbest post in a long while and shows you’re not watching the nuggets series. The Lakers are getting shafted with the whistle. They gave Dlo a flagrant 1 for going for a block and hitting Jamal’s arm. Rui got whacked in the head hard as hell no flagrant. They even took two points off a good putback dunk. The games have been all Denver all day every 50/50 call. Literally every. There are highlights of Lebron going to the hole and getting hit 8 different times no whistle.

  24. Lame. Dubs blew 2 games they should have won like the other 10 games in the regular season end of story. I’ve been told since middle school that you don’t let refs decide the game cause they’re gonna fuck you over. Turnovers, bad shots, and off shooting is why they lost and why they almost lost to the kings.

    until someone compiles the lakers shots in the paint and the warriors shots in the paint the stats don’t mean shit

  26. Lakers are better at defending without fouling. In comparison warriors are 2nd in fouls per defensive contest.

  27. I remember game 6 against the kings from way back. If the nuggets don’t win one of these games in Los Angeles they won’t win the series.

  30. Completely ignores the fact over the entire season Lakers shot most fouls and fouled the least and Warriors were toward the bottom in FTA. Series was true to the numbers over the entire season.

  32. the nuggets are hitting their shots. kudos to them. for some reason they remain composed in adversity for a young team. these years warriors look lost when things are not doing our way. it sucks but we need to recalibrate and prep for nxt year.

  33. I dont think this is the best way to argue. If your going to point to ff differentials, number of 2pt field goals, number of drives and things like that people are going to be able to explain it away. You have to point to actual instances of calls not being made when they should have been, and calls being made when they shouldn’t have been made, and create data out of that. Then you can say this team got this many extra ff and we missed out on this many.
