Mesa Mayor Doesn’t Anticipate a Vote

  1. Absolutely fantastic news if so. While there will still be lawsuits, the last thing this team has time for is another vote.

Also a massive risk (as we have found out) because of how aggressive mis-information campaigns can get.

  2. What a weird week. I went from crestfallen, to angry, and now I am actually optimistic and having a little fun following the story.

There isn’t time to grieve or cheer about the current news before the next thing hits.

  3. Guys, what even is this timeline at this point. I don’t know how to feel feelings anymore

  4. “If the terms are favorable to city council (as they were in Tempe) … they might be able to get something done.”

This just speaks, in modern terms, how good of a deal this was for a city to get a professional sports arena and team.

No raising taxes, just not taxing that land as high for a while. Unbelievable.

Where was this anti-hockey campaign when Glendale got fleeced? The sales tax alone was around 13% or something for a while.

  5. I’M FUCKIN SORTING HOPIUM AND INJECTING IT! WILL I BE HURT? MAYBE BUT FUCKIN LETS GO!

  6. As an outside fan I really want you guys to keep this team… we can’t lose your jerseys lol

  7. This would be the biggest reversal for me. I live East of Mesa and work in Mesa, I was excited for Tempe after suffering through Glendale for years, so for Tempe to get shot down only for Mesa to say “We’ll take that deal, please!” would be massive.

  8. It’s not the greatest location for me in the West Valley but fuck it. If it keeps them from moving let’s get it done.

  9. Blow up the rotting corpse of Fiesta Mall and out an arena there. Now not only do you have a venue for the Coyotes, but for concerts and wrestling.

  10. please not fiesta please not fiesta please not fiesta please not fiesta pleeeeease please please
