  1. Why can this team hit with runners on? Also is Vladdys wrist fucked. He hasn’t hit as well since 2021 and still has good numbers, but something is off with him. Even in 2020 his eye at the plate was phenomenal compared to now.

  2. They’re in the bottom 5 in just about every offensive stat that matters.

    Vladdy hasn’t even hit a HR at Skydome this year. More than a 1/4 of the season and not a single long ball. Bizarre. they have to do better or there will be a reckoning.

  3. Is this some kind of weighted number? Where does the 15 in the last 3 come in.

    Not including today, the last 3 have been 9, 7, 5.

  4. Well, be the best at something, I guess. Jays have chosen stranding more runners than Forrest Gump to be the best at this season … so far (I hope).

  5. The Jays are *first* in the majors. That is a *good* thing.

    The teams who left the most runners on base in 2022:

    * Padres – 102 wRC+
    * Dodgers – 119 wRC+
    * Cleveland – 99 wRC+
    * Mets – 116 wRC+
    * Red Sox – 102 wRC+

    Teams who left the fewest runners on base in 2022:

    * Athletics – 84 wRC+
    * Rangers – 98 wRC+
    * Tigers – 81 wRC+
    * Pirates – 84 wRC+
    * Reds – 84 wRC+

    The team who stranded the second-most runners ever? 1976 Reds who left 1,328 runners on base. You may be familiar with them as the **Big Red Machine**, as they had a 120 wRC+ and almost lapped the field in baseball that year by being almost as far ahead of second place (112 wRC+) as 2nd is from average.

  6. Not the number 1 that the Jays wanted to be, but it’s only May. The pain. I tell you it is real.

  7. This feels like the story of our last 3 seasons. We’ve always had trouble with clutch hitting. Was hoping this year would be different due to the new personality… But here we sit.

  8. Why are people surprise? The jays have been hot garbage at getting runners home from scoring position with less than 2 outs for at least 5 or 6 years now.

  9. Been happening for many years, no matter who is in the lineup. They can’t take advantage of their chances and have been just good enough to keep in the hunt. Since everyone in the division is getting better and they continue their streaky ways they are at the bottom looking up. I’m sure they come out of this historic bad stretch sooner or later but the streakiness will continue.

  10. Total stranded runners is an irrelevant stat. Their team ops with RISP is .704, which a little bit worse than their team ops of .736 but not significantly worse. In the reality the offence just hasn’t been that good, Springer, Kirk and Varsho especially need to be better if we’re gonna do anything this season.

  11. That number is wrong, there is no way they are average 16.41 runners left on base per game. Including 23 in their last game.

    23 runners left on base, would be basically bases loaded every inning.

  12. Team Choke is what they are right now have to get in clutch mode just saying

  13. Look who they gave up and what did we get to improve the offence. I’m so frustrated. Moreno a great young player is gone for what? This team didn’t need offensive changes, they needed pitching changes and Atkins fucked this season up. He’s actually screwed the near future of success by not bringing in pitching. The Jays are victims of that now. Look at the quality of bullpens the Rays, Orioles and Yanks have. “Just Sayin”

  14. I guess we shouldn’t have traded away all that clutch hitting for fucking peanuts.
