  1. We do not need sweeps or unrealistic winning streaks: Day 6

    Before anyone shrieks at me, I’m not advocating for losing. But the reality is, we don’t actually even need to win every series. We can afford to lose a couple here and there.
    Since the losing streak, we are 14-10, which means we’ve been playing .583 ball. If my calculations are correct, if we keep up that pace for the rest of the year, we would end the year with an 85-77 record. Looking at our division, that may be enough to win the division.

    This has us 3 games under .500 at the all star break.

  2. * Burger earned his first MLB steal.
    * TA hit an RBI single. His last 20 hits have all been singles.
    * Giolito gave up 4 ER, 6 H, and 7 BB in 3.2 IP. He got out of jams in the 2nd & 3rd; otherwise, the damage would’ve been worse.
    * This broke his streak of 8 straight starts with 6+ IP.
    * Sheets hit a solo HR.
    * Santos retired 4 straight, striking out the side in the 5th.
    * Tiger’s starter Faedo earned a career-high 10 Ks.
    * Crochet walked 4, bringing the Sox’s to 11 BBs issued tonight.
    * Crochet and Bummer allowed 3 ER in relief.

  7. Terrible game. Not the end of the world, only 6 GB in May after a 10 game losing streak. A win tomorrow would be really nice. Lance gonna slap all the dicks.
